It's from the 50's hangover period of the early 60's where the hairstyles were just a tad more modern but a lot of the (mood) style was still very 50's prudish. This is typical of ads from the early 60's. They take a huge leap forward in 1965 and the 60's style and art really starts to kick into gear! Thanks for posting it!

Pardon for the correction KZbin user "lilac028". But this Colgate commercial was made in the early 1960's, not the 1950's. However, the Colgate jingle in this commercial is really one of the best commercial jingles ever. Thanks for posting.

2 months after this commercial was filmed, Cutie Katie learned that she was pregnant. Unfortunately, she wasn't sure if it was from the 3 way session with the Juke Box Boys or the quickie right after with Handsome Harry in the alley behind the studio.

According to the advertising insert in the 1960 Columbia Records premium, "Colgate Presents Great Sounds and New Sounds", 'smokes', it stated, "Gardol is Colgate's trade-mark for Sodium N-Laroyl Sarcosinate". Today, there's a variation of that formula ["sodium laruyl sulfate"] in every tube, omitting the name "Gardol".

Back then you could almost tell that someone was american from the white teeth. They started very early telling people how important fluoride dental cream and frequent flushing was. The difference between America and England was big , but maybe all the tea-drinking or something in England had some effect too?I dunno, but the difference was clear:)

You will find one that has a guy with a skittles tree growing out of his stomach (Poor guy, His mom won't let him go to college) One that has a freak man who is milked like a cow (And is giving sour milk because hes eating sour skittles) And one where a man who can't touch anything without turning it into skittles. These three commercials make me want to stay away from skittles.
