Colin Mcrae Dirt had the best rally tracks by far, Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 had the best contact racing(RallyX, Buggies, Trucks,etc.), Dirt 3 has the best variety of everything from tracks to racing styles to cars, although i would like to see a DLC(which are way overpriced) of some tracks from the "Dirt's" like Hairpin Run from Dirt 2 or Pikes Peak from Dirt. The Dirt series is one of the best racing series and experiences i have ever played. RaceDriver GRID, also made by CodeMasters, is very good.

This game is brilliant, I have Dirt, Dirt2 and Dirt3. But this one is the best, just rallying, no fireworks, no Gymkhana or other show off Ken Block crap, just flatout rallying. And the loading times are way better

This and RBR are from different universes. Did you know that RBR calculates response based on a realistic combustion engine modeling. Also brake disks in RBR changes color based on their temperature. (Yep they modeled brake disc temperature too)

JOYSTICK problem: Every time I run the game (DiRT #1), it seems I have to go thru all the joystick controls again so that it'll recognize the controller. Anyone have this problem -- and a solution?? Thanks!

Dang this guy is good. I have this game and I know; it takes so much concentration just to not end up falling off a cliff or ramming head on into a tree every five seconds. (The tree always wins btw) It's a very rewarding experience though when you learn to be patient and listen to the co-driver. I recommend buying this game. :D

Question: Is the handling in this game harder then in 2 and 3? cuz Dirt 2 and 3 are just easy mode even at hardest difficulty. no sim whatsoever. Currently im playing Wrc 2011 and that game has kind of a sim-handling.

Colin McRae's Dirt and Dirt Rally are the only games bearing the Dirt name that are actually Rally Sims. The other 3 games in the franchise are arcade drivers. Of the 3 that aren't straight up rally sims I'd recommend Dirt 2 out of all of them. It is the most fun. If you like a serious challenge then get Dirt Rally. If you want a ridiculously hard challenge, get Dirt Rally and then the Lancia Stratos then accept nothing less than 1st place.

Yes, it is. Both Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 are unique games. I have played both and both are very good, Showdown is nice too.

Dirt 2&3 are very similar. I think D2 has better climate, but D3 will become Steam support instead of GfWl

Maurizio Francavilla If you're into Dirt because it works like a simulator, do *NOT* get any other Dirt game except for Dirt Rally. I played Dirt for the rally and the realistic damage dynamics (My engine melted so many times), and Dirt 2&3 were pretty much cash cows to me.
