Honestly, this game is more fun than DiRT Rally 2.0. Sure, DiRT is more realistic and shit but the tracks in CM2005 are even more realistic and challenging to be honest. I've never seen Germany look so beautiful.

@@snaildriving No I mean- cmr2005 seems to have more diversitity or is it just me? In DiRT, the only place where the surface changes drastically is in Monaro. Sure, Baumholder has different kinds of tarmac and Monte Carlo has Ice, Snow and Tarmac all together. But you never see Tarmac to Gravel or Gravel to Tarmac in the whole track, only in small sections. In fact, you don't even get to choose different kinds of tires. And I'm talking about surface tires, not just Soft, Medium and Hard tires.

This game deserves a reboot. I hope Forza Horizon 5 makes a super extravaganza rally expansion. I wish they would hire the team that made this game and tricked out the physics to be full Sim for the expansion

The reboot of this game actualy exist it's Dirt rally and Dirt rally 2.0 1998 : Colin McRae Rally 2000 : Colin McRae Rally 2.0 2002 : Colin McRae Rally 3 2003 : Colin McRae Rally 04 2004 : Colin McRae Rally 2005 2007 : Colin McRae: Dirt 2009 : Colin McRae: Dirt 2 2011 : Dirt 3 2012 : Dirt: Showdown 2013 : Colin McRae Rally remastered 2015 : Dirt Rally 2017 : Dirt 4 2019 : Dirt Rally 2.0 2020 : DiRT 5 Colin McRae Dirt1,2 and Dirt3,4,5 are more arcade and "Rally" series are more simulation And all of these games were developed by codemaster so it's from the same series

@@Robson_oklm actually Colin mcrae rally and dirt and dirt rally are different Series They stopped calling it Colin mcrae dirt after mcrae death in 2007 then dirt 2 came out and that was the last CM game called Colin mcrae

I started with CMR3 and RBR, it seems that both games are about rally, but in terms of physics they differ dramatically

I honestly think that WRC games of that time was better in physics and Design, i like cmr series, specially the 3 and 4 but cmr 2005 feels so weird on physics and did not feel comfortable playing, reason why i played few time on this game 😅

I don't understand how anyone can drive well with the bonnet cam. There are most certainly some big advantages when going through tight areas or under trees, but the limited FOV does not work for The Kitty 🐱

@@snaildriving ... I just tried for a few minutes on Expert level of CMR04 and was off course and in the rocks on the first turn... 🙀. No doubt if I played this cam all the time, I would improve, but I not only like the perspective of chase cam. I get to see much more of the nice detail put into all of the surrounding foliage, spectators, buildings and such. . It is also a bummer that I will never play the Expert level, because after 20 years of chase cam use in games, this old cat is not going to learn new tricks 🐱

The game is really good, but I think DR 2.0 and especially DR are very good, the WRC series also has its advantages in the form of good graphics, as well as camera angles are very well done in places on replay. Haven't heard of secrets in cmr2005...

So this is why most people go into rbr than this for that time. counter lock is a bit hard on this game. Sometimes cars just feels to light and skid. And yeah those bush is frickin annoying. I mean rbr itself is looks like just skid on the track. Dirt 2.0 kinda amazing tho overall

I think RBR and this game are not competitors. Simulator versus arcade, I think the only thing they have in common is that they are both rally games, and that’s where the similarities end

I nailed both stages with probably my best driving and that thing stopped me dead cold 100 yards from finish... jheez! 😹 EDIT: Wait.... I remember it right at the end, but this video seems farther.
