Love this song for them, bc on the surface it’s more obliviously linked to Colin who says he’ll always look after her, and in their book much of their relationship forms bc he wants to protect her. But Penelope also looks after him. She protects him and his family, she is always watching out for him and trying to take care of him, make him feel better, make him believe in himself. Some people think she goes too far by posting what she does in lady whistledown but she’s simply using the tools she has to help the people she loves the best she can. Penelope is a freakin saint I love her character so much.

This is so true. When she writes about Bridgertons it is mostly to protect them, not to hurt them. I don`t understand how Eloise asked her in the last episode of S2 how she could do that to Marina and Colin. Like seriously? Marina was trying to trap a young man into a marriage. Like her situation was tough but that does not excuse her behavior in the slightest. LW prevented Daphne having to marry Nigel B. And Eloise in the show was being careless and put her whole family in danger with the queen. Pen is too good for them, although not for Colin 🙂, he will see it.

I didn't think I would feel this way at first but I love what the series is doing. Season 1 showed a regular love story; Season 2 enemies to lovers; Season 3 will be friends to lovers; I'm hoping then we get to see in Season 4 the Cinderella story. I absolutely love it!!

👏👏👏 🥺🥺🥺 This edit is incredible. You truly nailed it on the head. I haven't read the books bc I don't want spoilers but I just binged S2 and I want these two to work so bad. 😩 There's nothing greater than a slow burn of a loving friendship. I really hope Colin opens his eyes before it is too late and I hope we get to see what unfolds between these two. Thus far, Colin and Pen give me the same feels I get from my hardcore ships like Damon & Elena (TVD), Jackson & April (Grey's Anatomy) & Stiles & Lydia (Teen Wolf). Soooo much protection and love and glances and complete idiocy at times, and the slow burn is so good, and the solid foundation of friendship that will either completely destroy them or complete them when feelings get revealed and life gets in the way and as they grow into becoming and discovering themselves.

my favorite thing about this other than the fact that we get 2 characters that have been in the show since the beginning and we get to see them fall in love is the fact that the actors have done a REMARKABLE job sprinkling in little bits and pieces of the very clear love that already exists between the two of them... we just need Collin to stop being so oblivious.

I hope Season 3 Bridgerton is about Benedict, the 2nd brother, because we need to see the slow-burn romance of Colin and Penelope. In the book, Penelope waited for many years before Colin really noticed her. Plus he felt very guilty when he found out that she heard him saying he doesn't want to marry her. But then, this is Netflix show, and they might change the order of the book. Plus, Eloise found out the real identity of Ms. Whistledown end of Season 2, which I find to be such a big bummer, because I want Penelope's secret identity to stay hidden for much longer. Anyways, I really look forward to the love story of Colin and Penelope. I love the actress who played her, and she is really beautiful just the way she is.

I think Colin is a bit of a dark horse. He likes to joke around and seems preoccupied elsewhere but he really notices things (except it seems for Pen of course). He saw through the new Lord Featherington's con of the ruby mines in America when no one else did right? Also I began wondering if he said that he wouldn't pursue Pen to those other men because he was protecting Pen. They seem like they may pursue Pen because Colin was interested in her and maybe just try to use her or ruin her reputation even if it's just for their amusement. Afterall those men don't really appear to be honourable or respectful when it comes to women. And... Remember in the first season Daphne would appear more interesting if another man was courting her...? Maybe Colin said what he said to protect her when she has no one to stand up for her now her father is dead and her 'Cousin' is a thief and been chased out of town by him. Just a thought or two. Luke Newton is wonderful as Colin, and makes Colin the most interesting Bridgerton so far! Can't wait for S3!! 🥰

"You do not count" I believe he vomited that out cause of fear. Something about his facial expression, he looked scared for a moment. Up to that point he probably never thought about giving up on her or her not being in his life so when he said he'd sworn off women it hit him "she's a woman too yes. You just said you are going to avoid women for a while. She'd probably feel like keeping her distance from you aswell, out of respect to your wish, since she's a woman. Say something!" the way he said "you are Pen" was awkward af. He doubted himself, his own words. I first i thought it was mean too. Ngl i didn't like the dude lol then i saw what looked like fear on his face. He is still an idiot. A very cute idiot tho ✨👌🏻It's amazing what you can notice when you set the ego aside for a moment and just give yourself permission to explore some more.

I don't think weight plays a big role or ANY role for Colin developing romantic feelings for Penelope. She lost a little weight in the book, but it was not what made Colin open his eyes nor it will be in the series. Oh, also I love Pen for who she is and I want Colin to do the same lol

But for the character she is cast as, if she lost weight (as I have seen her do several times in many roles) and then Collen notices, then starts to regard her differently, then started to peruse her and she wanted none of it after how he treated her, I think that would be great! I don't want to see the two of them together. He disregards her too quickly. Love and respect are the same thing, one does not exist without the other. And I've no intentions of thinking the books will be the same as the films. Or reading the books before the ending.

First of all, she doesn’t need to lose weight for him to notice her. The fact that you seem to think that it’s necessary for her to change physically to be valued and chased is kinda effed up. She’s beautiful just the way she is. Also, they do have to end up together. This isn’t like a comic book where there are many variations of the story that have already been altered. This is a set series of books. Each book is about one particular romance. They can’t just change that. They changed a lot from the book for season 2, but the ending remained the same Kate and Anthony end up together. No doubt it will be the same with each and every relationship in the series.
