Eh, Rockets with much better shooters are 4-8 against top 4 teams. So, Harden's doing against weak teams too. And, if the Cavs weren't acting as if regular season doesn't matter, the record would've been 2-10.

Sam Tha Ruler why is it flawed? it just shows that against better teams, his very best was not good enough to carry his team, whereas, against lesser teams, they need a triple double just to win. your argument actually emphasizes the quality of his teammates or the coach or the team as a whole.

Gotta side with Cowherd here. I don't get why a triple double is that important. What's important is if the team has more rebounds than the other team. Did the Thunder dominate the paint because of Westbrook, or did they just redistribute those rebounds to Westbrook? I think we all know the answer.

How can you all disrespect Bill Russell like that? Comparing him to a center that is not good offensively. He played against Wilt Champlerlain. 7’3 center every other game. Maybe 3 times a month. And he put up those stats he did. Michael Jordan would be blocked at least 3 times every game against Chamberlain. And there were numerous centers at that time. And less teams means facing more of Chamberlain, more of Bill Russell, more of Kareem, more of Willis Reed, and many more almost on a daily basis. That is like playing against LeBron and Kawhi every 2-3 times a month.

I like how people don't think one bit about Westbrook's win% when he doesn't get a triple double. It's around 33%. People just glance at it and think, "oh wow, the team sucks when Westbrook doesn't give his best". But if you look at it logically, you'll find one really odd thing about that statistic. The definition of "not getting a triple double" could be a stat line of 30-10-8. Why does a difference of 2 rebounds turn the win% of the team from lottery-bound to title contender? When Westbrook goes 30-10-8, the Thunder win 33% of the time. When Westbrook goes 30-10-10, they win 66% of the time. It just doesn't make sense. Two rebounds get you 2 possessions. 2 possessions get you 8 points at MOST, and that's only if you're fortunate enough to get 4-point plays on both. It's most likely that 2 extra possessions leads to just 3 points on average. So how does 3 points make the difference between lottery team and championship contender? The Thunder don't win all their games by 3 points or fewer. Those 3 extra points are rarely the difference between a win and a loss for them. It's absolutely absurd.

Lavar Ball Exactly! Curry plays good for 12 games and all of a sudden he's an MVP candidate ???
@Zasaramel7 жыл бұрын
Collin never said he was an MVP candidate. He is saying people are overly infatuated with the triple double stat because that is the only reason why Westbrook is a true candidate for MVP right now. And he wouldn't have the stats for it if his team was -actively feeding- him rebounds to attain it. Not to say it doesn't matter at all, not to dismiss the points or assists. But at least people can be honest with the fact they are biased in how much they value the triple double and recognize that a few players in the league right now could get it, because they are already right near it without trying for it, if they specifically fought to get it. Even without getting the sheer number of triple doubles, if Westbrook didn't have his 2 bigs " who are supposed to be getting the rebounds since it's their job as bigs, feeding him those rebounds he'd the MVP over Harden because he is unquestionably working with less and getting the same production as Harden. And is making it to the playoffs. But, Collin and others don't like the over glorification of Westbrook over his stat stuffing because it is obvious. Especially by the hypocrites who wanted to critique Lebron when many called him the greatest player in the league, because they felt he came up short in the big moments " lack of clutch gene " and wanted to dismiss the fact his stats were all time great for the first 48 minutes of the game. People are being wishy washy and are obviously letting personal bias affect their objectivity. While I think Collin does it some himself, but his arguments in this case is at least based around the facts of the situation.

This "He's 32-9 when he averages a triple double" is one of the weakest arguments I've ever heard, as if that's the sole purpose of his winning and because of that, Westbrook isn't being held accountable. He'd have the same margin/ if not more wins if he contested more shots, held his team accountable on rebounding and turned it over less. Holding his team mates' feet to the fire would allow them to grow, LeBron does this!

magic Johnson avg 5 turnovers with hall of famers= best point guard ever lmao. russ triple double no hall of famers, 5 turnovers= overrated ???? #double standard

Ballin Too magic never went a single season averaging 5 turnovers. He averaged less than 4 turnovers a game for his entire career.
@almonjoseph43827 жыл бұрын
magic has a carrer avg of 3.9 Turnover you can round that to 4 but so what magic played at a very slow pace compared to russ so i can understand why he has 5 turnovers a game and hes forcing the ball into bums that cant even get in position to post up

The Gaming King Did you just use "intellect" to describe Colin Cowherd?!? Come on. Who falls for this type of psuedo-"intellect". Throwing around stats without being able to intelligently apply proper context to them is the sign of a person of average intelligence attempting to make intellectual arguments. It sounds "smart" only to those of below average to average intelligence. To the intelligent, it sounds moronic.

why do they hate on westbrook so much, mvp isn't who is the best point guard or center or forward, it's the most important player to a team. why downplay a triple double no one else has done that in 55 years.

JonaGOAT Simmons you're right. nobody in nba history has ever won mvp being lower than the 2nd seed. only person to win it being lower than the 2nd seed was michael jordan in 1988 and he was in the 3rd seed. if russell westbrook wins it this year then kobe got robbed in 2007 while he was averaging 35 points. harden is the mvp

Russ is leading the league in scoring as well. Being an aggressive scorer like him leads to a lot of turnovers. I think this season he has had the least amount of bad passes in his career. Most of his turnovers are during his attempts to score and not when he is playmaking for others.
@Commandosoap7777 жыл бұрын
Come on ok maybe Russ doesn't win MVP,ok he's not playing the best most efficient basketball but he's making history and I'm not even a fan . You cant say respect talent when it comes to Lebron and not when it comes to Westbrook

you know why no one else has gotten a triple double? because no team needs its guards to get 10 rebounds a night. for a guard to get 10 rebounds every single night his team must "allow" it to happen.
@1993smallz7 жыл бұрын
what about the team he's playing against?? are the allowing him to smh
@Kevinschart7 жыл бұрын
+Marco Warren in a sense they are letting him because guards don't get boxed out. when's the last time you saw someone get boxed out on the perimeter? A large portion of westbrook's double digit rebounds would have fallen in the hands of his bigs anyway. Most bigs don't appreciate guards who do this as rebounds are the way a lot of big guys make their contracts.

at the end of the day if he averaged one less rebound per game and the forwards did there job and rebounded and not let Russell get it he wouldn't win it

Bruh the Thunder are like 32-9 when Westbrook has a triple double and 12-24 when he doesn't get one. Wouldn't you think that somewhat eliminates the "stat padding" logic? If he's doing what it takes to win and it's PROVEN that they win MORE when he does get a triple double then what's the issue?
@krobinson877 жыл бұрын
It's a Triple Double man, nd he's stat stuffing. Man his team is winning, at a level they shouldn't even be in. If there are exceptions to the rule then wth. Everybody y'all comparing him to has a way better team bruh. They are 32-9 without his triple double. 32-9 like WTH, so his position matters. Because he's not shooting at a PG position he's not an MVP candidate. Stop Russ wasn't even a PG when he came into the league honestly. But now he's averaging almost 12 a game. Ok, Russ was rebounding like this before he's added to his game. All around he's added to it. Meanwhile IT4 has gotten us to the #1 spot nd he's not even in the convo.
@krobinson877 жыл бұрын
D Mac Lol could Kobe play all 5 position nah. Kobe only played 1 SG. Kobe better than LeBron 😂😂😂. LeBron even out marketed him. I wish ppl wouldn't compare. LeBron will never be MJ, but LeBron took over that hype when MJ left. I admit Kobe did his thing throughout the years. Honestly are we tlkn more about Kobe now, or LeBron nd MJ????
@krobinson877 жыл бұрын
D Mac lol Bron can play PG, SG, SF, PF nd Center. Idk what you trying to get at. I know what I see when Bron plays. He's bigger nd faster than anybody. Nd you must be a Bron hater, lmao. It's cool man, have a nice day..
@krobinson877 жыл бұрын
D Mac here's the thing. I said Bron can play all 5 position. Not he goes out there every night nd plays these 5. Yes finals matchup I've seen Bron play center. Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics, Heat vs Spurs. He went PF to Heat vs OKC finals. See that's where y'all get it twisted. Kobe played those positions during playoffs. Kobe was nd always will be a SG. After TMac got old he stayed at SG. During the NBA finals Boston vs Lakers Kobe played SF last year they won cause KG nd Pierce got old on us. Rondo couldn't guard him nd Kobe started defending Rondo. Speak facts nd never misconstrue my words. Bron best 5 way player out here. My opinion. You wanna debate me bro get a podcast 😂😂😂
