I've been a Chiefs fan since the days of Len Dawson and Otis Taylor, no we don't have the best offense, maybe the most exciting. Top 10, maybe even top 5, but it's a stretch to say, at this point in the season, we're better than Pittsburgh, Atlanta, or the Rams. Never underestimate Andy's ability to play call us into a loss.

Two super bowls, two MVPs, and mending the heart of a fandom that was always the one and done later. Being a lifelong Chiefs fan prior to Mahomes they’d won two playoff games in my living life, one of which was when I was eleven days old so to see in his five seasons starting it’d been conf champ or better every time and two SBs has been absurd. Being a fan of a team that hadn’t drafted a QB in the first round since 1983 it was always a daydream wondering what it would be like to have that franchise QB and I gotta say it’s been better than I ever imagined it could have been.

With each SB that KC wins, Alex Smith should get a ring, as well. If not for his mentoring of Mahomes in Mahomes 1st year on the bench, you have to wonder how Patrick might have struggled to figure things out on his own. No doubt, he would have for sure, but would the learning curve have been greater? We'll never know, but Alex deserves BIG props.

Sadly, this is accurate. They talked about the changing of the tide this season. In 2015, we had #5 defense but #28 offense, 2016 we were like 20 on both, then 2017 we were #3 offense but #29 defense. Such a shame tbh

Patrick is such a nice and graceful young man and talented and promising quarter back he is equipped with a group of talented players around him like kelcee , Tarik Hill, and many more. Specially Tarik, we all glad that coach Andy Reid selected Tarik and gave him the second chance after his domestic violence with his girl friend ( I condemn all domestic Violence as we are men should never be violent with women period) however, he redeemed himself and took anger management Class etc. ...Coach Reid is such a generous and great man who's given opportunities to many players to make themselves better as players and human beings best wishes to the Chief and coach Reid this season.

Mahomes is a class act whose experience w/his MLB father made him the best QB candidate from day 1 to build around. The GMs who passed on him for other QBs should be nervous if still employee in 2020.

Agree. There were a lot of GM's who did not look close enough with him. Worked out great for him though. Some of the very best QB coaches really wanted him at #10 (Andy Reid) and #11 (Sean Payton). You'd rather land with those guys than an incompetent franchise like the Jets.

DRM 1985 I was told Steelers wanted him at 16. Reminds of Steelers passing on Marino but glad for Mahomes. When Tom Brady was drafted teams all wanted the next Steve Young so Nracy fell to 6th round. Since 2008 most were looking for the next Brady or Manning so they let guys like Mahomes get away & went for guys like Darnold. Then some wanted the next Drew Breeze. To me it’s a cop out for a head coach to sell his system & he getts guaranteed $8M per year to gamble on a kid that they want to make into another man. All these QBs have their own strengths & I believe that Deshawn Watson is more like Lamjack tha the TB12 Bill O’Broem is trying to mold. Then again I’m just a fan & know little. One thing for sure, games are won by controlling the line of scrimmage. A team that controls the line can do a lot to develop a young QB.

They weren't willing to move up, but they really loved him and were apparently willing to replace Russell Wilson (INSANE lol). But I have to say they have a great eye. Drafted Wilson and wanted Mahomes. Those are the two best guys. They have some very special traits.

DRM 1985 yes that is interesting. Can’t help wonder if it was a Dan Marino type of thing where they thought that they didn’t want to be one of the teams that passed like they & every team but Washington did in 1983. In 2017 Wilson was showing that he was going to develop into a QB who could carry a team but they knew they’d have to pay him big time. Yes thanks for that info. It would’ve been neat to see Wilson eventually get traded to the Giants & Mahomes become a super star in Seattle. I believe it was Tyrann Mathieu’s tweet that Wilson would love to relocate to NYC that got Seahawks to quit dicking around & re-sign Wilson for $35M per year.

@@r.williamcomm7693 The other crazy rumor with Seattle is that they "allegedly" talked to Cleveland about trading Russell for the #1 overall pick (and maybe other picks) in 2018 Draft. That ended up being Baker Mayfield. I don't think there was anyone in the 2018 Draft to make it worth dumping Russell. With Mahomes, Seattle's angle was probably that he had many similar talents (throwing off-platform and such). You could draft him and pay him dirt cheap for 4 years instead of paying Russell the $35M per year. If you got even 80% of Russell's production out of the kid, it's a pretty fair trade given that you pay him dirt cheap by comparison.
