My home town,,in the early 60s used to live at Sardis Road, our back wall in the garden,,if I sat on the wall with my father holding me,,I could see the trains and the station .The road used to be to stop in front of our houses and the buses used to turn there,,before the road was built to go up to the Rhondda valleys.

@@taffystravelvideos It was my Grans house we had to move from there when then knocked all the houses down to build then new road.I used to stand by the railings in front of the row of houses up the steps and watch the buses turn .

Pontypridd now can be summed up in two words bland and boring. Thanks, nice to see contrast.

What a unique name! What does it mean ?

If you are referring to the town's name, it's Welsh for " Bridge by the earthen house"

The post gave me a much needed boost when I was taking a break, Colin, Pontypridd has changed a great deal - but not the people..Still the kindest and most compassionate to be found.

@@catrincollier6415 Hi Catrin , as you say Pontypridd has changed . Some lovely old buildings have disappeared , but to me its still Ponty.
