El Toro is a great rollercoaster, but you don’t have Kingda Ka & El Toro, and switch to El Toro and a shuttle coaster and claim your lineup is as good.

If the park is smart, they'll take a page out of FIesta Texas's playbook and start a teaser campaign the day they implode Ka. It would be a good day to help slightly lessen the blow to fans. They would also do well to start showing a bit of the vision for the park in total to let folks know there is actually a plan in place and this isn't all just improv.

I typed all of this up awhile ago because I’m very interested on this topic and because this coaster is very important for great adventure. I have this whole thing split into sections for anyone that cares to read it. I had a lot of fun typing this out lol. What the coaster will most likely be: So the 2026 coaster is very crucial. A lot of people are upset about Ka and all the other bad things that have happened. Many guests don’t want to return right now so they need a big win. From what we’ve heard and saw on the survey it will be the mack extreme spinner 400ft tower coaster. I think they should go up to Kingda Ka’s height but will see if that happens. Anyway It’s the ride that makes the most sense if you want to keep a similar presence in the park. I don’t think this makes sense over the TT2 treatment but I already went into that before. As to if I think it will be shuttle or full circuit well I’ll get into that later. Will the ride be good?: I think people are 100% underestimating this. The 400ft drop with the controlled spinning would be insane. It would have a good launch, you would go through the stall fowards and back, of course the massive drop, and will be spinning throughout the whole ride. Like you could be looking at a really good ride here and maybe they’re banking on the 400ft drop while spinning to be a moment that can rival Ka’s launch. I know a lot of people won’t see it that way and I will get into the possible reactions to this later on. But yeah I think this could be a great coaster and I would be excited if this got announced. The only little bit of downside I would see for this Mack extreme spinner is the capacity. If they could get a turntable to run two trains then that would be good for a shuttle. However it would be less capacity than the coaster you’re replacing it with. Now if it’s only 1 train then that would be laughable. As for the name I really like the one Colin came up with that is called Spinda Ka. I would like it if they kept the coaster the same color scheme as Kingda Ka but I most likely wouldn’t be opposed to something else. I have been thinking about this ride for a while now and I can’t wait for the teasers to start rolling out for it. But now I will go into if this Mack extreme spinner will be full circuit or not. They’re some factors that are at play here. Is the Survey a done deal?: The main thing is that it basically says and shows it’s a shuttle in the survey. However people are taking this as a done deal. I don’t look at surveys like that at all. Survey’s are just to get an idea of what people would want to see and are a work in progress. It’s not the final product. Just look at Canada’s wonderland. They got a completely different coaster from what was on their survey. Yes, it’s a bit different here since I do think they’re getting the mack spinner but is a layout change really out of the question here? I think Canada’s wonderland proves that changes can be made from these surveys but let’s look at some other factors. Two shuttle coasters back to back?: The coaster we’re getting this year in Flash is a shuttle. Do they really want two shuttle coasters back to back? Like literally a year apart? That would just be odd to me. I think Cedar Fair is a proper company when it comes to this because they always seemed to really care about their rides and parks. They have rides with cool theming and they have brought different experiences to all of their parks. If they’re not about cloning coasters to other parks then I don’t think they would do a similar concept for a coaster in the same park so soon. It’s just not something I think they would do. But the big counter to this is that a 400ft coaster will bring in a lot of people regardless and I know Cedar Fair weren’t the ones to bring Flash in so they might not care about that at all. Also the size between this and flash would be pretty notable. But again I do think it’s odd and it kinda goes against what Cedar Fair is about. I think it could also play a factor in their process if they think this would affect them negatively enough to warrant a change. Will they use the Green Lantern plot of land?: The next thing is Green Lantern and its plot of land. We all know Green Lantern wasn’t a popular ride but the trend I have been seeing is that Six Flags is only taking out old and expensive rides. Like they already took a good chunk out at great adventure this season so what gives? Green Lantern wasn’t expensive and not even the oldest B&M in the park. Maybe the relocation added some years on to it lol but I don’t think closing it had anything to do with it needing to be heavily refurbished. I also don’t think they took the whole coaster down just to drop parachutes. Maybe this was the incentive they needed to take down Green Lantern since lower ridership isn’t as bad to them like older rides are and this was the cheapest way to take down parachutes. I’m not sure how much more it would have cost to take parachutes down without it being imploded but I can’t imagine the price was so much that it was a deciding factor. Cedar Fair is probably losing money on running rides that are just not popular like Green Lantern but they have kept rides like that open. I don’t think they would want to close it unless they were saving so much money imploding the parachute tower. They really couldn’t drop it a different way without taking out more things and messing up the path in the process. I don’t think they wanted to take out the up charge attractions just yet and they might be more valuable to Cedar Fair right now than Green Lantern to be honest. Dropping it on the twister plot would be a no go as well since I don’t see them taking out that Long building on the boardwalk. From my understanding they’re renovating one of the places in there. The parachutes added a whole layer to this lol. Also I don’t think they would want to take down two major coasters in one year despite green lanterns reputation. At Carowinds they took out only 1 of their old coasters and left Carolina Cyclone up so maybe I’m right on that. There’s a few ways you can take this second point about Green Lantern and will know soon enough if this is part of the project or not. Is the new Six Flags going all in with Great Adventure?: The last point I wanted to make is that since this merger has happened we think great adventure is going to get a lot of love because of three main things. The location between New York City and Philadelphia, great competition with Hershey which most parks in the chain have no competition, and the park is already in a spot where they can compete with Hershey to some degree. We think that they’re going to go all in and doing a shuttle coaster in the spot of Ka is not going all in. The reaction to it is going to be horrendous since you’re replacing it with a full circuit ride. They would get less backlash to this whole coaster if they decided to make it full circuit like Kingda Ka where you go down the drop into a big airtime hill and then the ride just ends. It wouldn’t be going all out using Green Lantern’s plot but the backlash wouldn’t be as bad. The reason for that is because a lot of people would be annoyed that you’re replacing a full circuit coaster with a shuttle. Regardless like I said before, a new 400ft coaster will bring people through the door but if they actually made it a full layout then they could maximum the potential of this coaster. People love these mack extreme spinners and if done right you could be looking at one of the best coasters ever made. Even better than El Toro. There’s so much potential here that I don’t want them to waste. Look they could put a great coaster in Green Lantern’s spot down the line but the problem is that it would hinder Ka’s replacement from many people’s eyes. So many people are in love with Ka’s launch and the only way to rival it for a lot of people is to go all out with the layout. Great Adventure has spots to put new coasters so it’s not a big loss if this mack extreme spinner uses both plots of land. If you have a chance to get a world class coaster then I would use that opportunity to get it. While I might like the shuttle idea it’s just not the best route for them to go and if they don’t go all in trying to replace Kingda Ka for the reasons I mentioned then maybe we were wrong about them taking great adventure to the next level. I think it would be a worthy replacement that would rival Kingda Ka but not reaching the world class level. I think Great Adventure will get a ton of investment but if they go with the shuttle then it’s not quite all in to me. Now with all of that being said, this does not mean I think it will be a full layout or shuttle. Right now I’m in the middle because it could really go either way. I just thought it was good to mention these things.

I’m still hoping for the PolarCoaster model. Fits the bill perfectly with the loss of parachutes to look around AND the skyride. Have an observation tower at the top with a coaster around the structure. “You can see phili and NYC from the top!” Put it near the boardwalk where Twister or Parachutes stood and then in two or three years you can build another nice sized ride in Ka and GL spot.

You'd need a building at least 350 feet tall and built well enough to support an entire coaster, plus the cost of the coaster itself, and the cost of whatever goes inside the building. The original Skyplex project in Orlando was $250 million.

I looked on coaster media and it said that track removal has started in January of 2025 so maybe they are removing the bottom parts first and then they are gonna demolish the tower by imploding it how sad even though I've never ridden it I grew a bond with it by watching its videos. Hoping to see a removal update pretty soon with it being imploded in the next video you make as well please, I'm also very interested in roller coasters. The Mack Spinning Coaster is an IDIOTIC idea, on many levels. First, it's (yet another) capacity nightmare for a park that needs a people eater. Second, why another shuttle type ride? Frankly, the Ride to Happiness layout is much more interesting than this. (I'd take a larger Alpen Fury vs. this). Third, A GIGA like Fury 325 for the front would make PERFECT sense. So, naturally, the park will not do the obvious.

I know it’s gonna be a launch coaster (obviously). But man, a Giga made so much sense here with all that available land, but due to the wording it’s not. I’m being open minded with Mack Extreme Spinner Tower, I think people are severely underestimating what the experience would be like. But like another commenter mentioned, hopefully they take the Fiesta Texas route, and start teasing the second that tower comes down to lesson the blow to us that love/ grew up with KK. I’m hopeful, but keeping expectations to reality, and hope there swinging for that grand slam no matter what make or model.

Agreed. Kingda Ka was a high maintenance coaster... It only lasted that long because the Great Recession essentially forced it to due to constantly keeping that record. Even to this day it still holds the records for North America.

Hopefully it's an Intamin Blitz coaster it doesn't need to be as tall as Kingda Ka. These Intamin Blitz coasters are great inversion filled airtime rides that aren't to intense or scary for the GP. Just look at Velocicoaster and Pantheon.

I’m officially done with Six Flags Great Adventure. Taking down Kingda Ka was the final straw! Y’all worried about removing rides when you should be fixing the ones you still have! Every time I go, something’s either broken, shut down, or held together with pure hope and zip ties-except Jersey Devil, that one’s hanging on like a champ. The whole park is going downhill faster than a roller coaster that actually works. At this point, they need a full-blown renovation because right now? That place is a 💩 HOLE!

I think ever since we knew that it was: -Replacing Kingda Ka -A launch coaster -Multi world-record breaking it became pretty apparent that the Mack Spinner Tower fit all the criteria. I think it can be a great ride, but my hesitations are: -It’s another shuttle coaster, a year after getting one -Capacity could be horrendous for a new record breaking shuttle ride at a park that serves one of the largest markets -This design will not fill the insane amount of land that was just cleared. Sure, the launch will need to start further back as it’s not a hydraulic launch, but there is going to be a lot of land around this layout that they will need to fill. Based on what Cedar Fair has done recently, I expect an entire new (jungle) themed section of the park that will take up the land with the coaster, shops, and land for future flat rides. Having another 400 foot coaster will allow the park to continue to have an extremely unique coaster.

The mack spinning tower coaster would be a big improvement on Ka. Nostalgia is messing with people's heads, all Ka did was go up and back down without any spinning... This does the same but with spinning trains giving a different ride experience each time, plus it has a massive stall. It's an improvement on Ka in every way except maybe the initial kick to the launch. But just look at how many people loved TTD2's new launch and it's not far fetched that even the launch could be just as good. I agree that capacity would be a concern but other than that, it would be a big draw considering how unique it would be.

But imagine Pantheon, with a 400 foot top hat with a back spike. I don’t think the tower coaster is going to replace all those rides due to the small footprint and it being a shuttle coaster. Also they just put a shuttle coaster in so it’d make no sense to make another one due to capacity reasons. The other thing I could see is the tower coaster but on a full circuit layout. But I really think it’ll be an Intamin LSM multi launch. It’s good with capacity, and has been a fan favorite amongst GP and enthusiasts alike at different parks around the world.

I think the only worthy replacements are an intamin blitz (a taller pantheon) or a b&m giga (which is already out). Great adventure will be under a lot of pressure for the next 7 months. A lot of the general public don’t even know Ka is leaving. The park has been getting cookie cutter coasters since El Toro, so they have to get this one right.

The only thing with the extreme spinner being a shuttle coaster is that it doesn’t appear to use any of the green lantern plot and I think the replacement will use that space. Maybe they do the tower but with a switch track or a non shuttle design.

The full circuit would probably have a higher capacity then the shuttle coaster. My concern is, if the spinning cars are even capable of high speeds and forces, because of the complex design and many moving parts. At least, unlike Zamperla, Mack has some experience with higher coasters.

A Mach spinning coaster thay launches straight up the tower and then straight up drops down 95 degrees and then do a whole layout extending into the green lantern plot.

What about a B&M wing coaster which is the tallest, fastest, Longest Wing coaster and the most inversions on any wing coaster with a total of 7 inversions. It might be a Hyper Wing Coaster and have a midcourse brake run

I live close to Dorney Park so Hersheypark and Great Adventure are about the same distance away from me. Hershey might be a little closer and I’ve been going to all three of these theme parks growing up. Cedar Fair owns Dorney as well and yes, Dorney is quite small compared to the other two. However, the area’s first dive coaster just opened last year as Iron Menace. It replaced Stinger (which yeah, they really dropped the ball when it came to Stinger) and they took a chance with a dive coaster instead. If Cedar Fair will do something like that at a small park like Dorney, then I definitely think that whatever is going to replace Ka is going to be good. We could debate all day about whether or not it will be a shuttle coaster (prolly won’t be) but we all know it is going to have to have two factors; intense speed, and intense height. They could put a coaster there that breaks all coaster records and people would still be unhappy. Ka was such a landmark and such a staple to the area that I really think that Cedar Fair knows the new coaster is going to have big shoes to fill. Cedar Fair has come a long way over the years and one thing I’ve noticed is they have made guest approval rates one of their top priorities again. I really am excited to see what the future holds for Great Adventure. Thank you for the video, I really like your ideas.

If they are getting the Mack tower coaster, then I had assumed that they'd reuse Kingda Ka's dual station, but it was just torn apart by excavators today, so that's off the table. Looks like a good ride, but I'm not convinced it was worth tearing down Kingda Ka, and all those other rides for. It should've gone to a park that didn't have a standout coaster. I'm not sure I'll be able to ride it due to motion sickness. I won't ride free spins at all for that reason. I've been on Pandemonium at SFNE, but always had a balanced car, so that limited spinning. I assume this would have a much longer launch track than Ka did, which may explain the demolition of the station, and of Green Lantern. I wonder how much of Green Lantern's plot will be left for another coaster.

I dont really know how I feel about the tower coaster. It doesn't make sense for a park to want to open 2 shuttle coasters in back to back years (I know Flash was delayed), but it also doesn't seem there was nearly enough time to make a full circuit complete layout. It probably will be the tower coaster, but if it is I think they should've called in Mack to reimagine Kingda Ka and put spinning trains on it. Thats just my pipe dream tho

I actually think the new spinning coaster will be shorter than El Toro. All they have to market is the tallest and fastest spinning coaster and they can easily do that with only 150ft or so. Corporate doesn’t care about having a good replacement for Ka. They just want the lowest offer coming from a company that will break some sort of record.

Some quick thoughts: 1) I think a shuttle coaster with its inherent hourly capacity limitations is a incredibly stupid idea for this park; 2) I’m having a hard time seeing Mack create a LSM launch that would get a train up a 400ft tower unless there are multiple launch sections going up/on the tower; I know ppl want the height and speed of Ka back, but it appears to me that reliable design/tech for that just isn’t fiscally feasible at this time - but it will be at some point; 3) Maybe spending money on two or more thrill coasters like a really good spinner and a well-designed giga and some large flat rides would be the better investment for now? I don’t want to see the new SF make the same financial f-ups the old SF did. The new SF has a huge amount of debt, I want them to invest wisely so they are around for a very long time.

Linear shuttle coasters going up 300+ ft tall towers and spinning coasters dont really go together. The twisty part at the top where it stalls looks cool, but a launch into a stall/inversion and then up a tower doesnt seem like it'd be too fun while spinning.

I hope it is a whole new launch strata coaster that is an linear synchronize motor (LSM) or linear induct motor (LIM) designed by a different manufacturer instead of Intamin like Premier Rides, Mack Rides, or Zamperla with a 456 feet tall or taller top hat with all new tracks sections, supports and concrete footers like what done on Incredible Hulk at universal studios Orlando but differently instead it has a newer coaster layout design added.

I think the tower coaster is good and all and as you said it fits the bill but this really isn’t the park for a shuttle coaster sure flash is also a shuttle coaster but that is just a filler unlike this which would be one of the parks marque attractions but it has me worried about the future of the parks additions because much of their marque attractions are over 20 years old being toro and nitro so this new company needs to be delivering some top notch additions if they want to save Great Adventure from its plummeting attendance not saying those two are getting removed but their time is almost up especially nitro being almost 24 years old
