Well, this was a bit of fun! Quirky collage in my new art journal....

I live in the beautiful South-West of Western Australia, my inspiration comes from the wineries, forests, stunning beaches and great weather we have here!
What's not to like.......
I love eco-dyeing with flowers, plants, the bark of trees etc, I'm always up to something in my studio.

A gal after my own heart… cardboard bits … yum. And yes, being a grande is one of the most fabulous things. The early years I had with my grandson or some of my happiest memories. Life happened and now I have to watch from a far, but your idea of making these Vlogs to share with us and ultimately with your loved ones … a blessing for us all 💕

Grandkids are the best, some stuff happened my end too with their mother last year & I didn’t se them for about 8 weeks so I get it, withholding the kids is a nasty ransom to hold over someone, I was gutted, but am back to seeing them now. @@kelkayla thank you so much, you can get lost doing collage for sure, I find it best to use odd numbers of items on the page like 3 or 5, then add paint splatters or stamping to bring it together, also you could try using a smaller substrate like a postcard or even a business card to start with so it’s not so overwhelming, then once completed, stick that in to your journal - good luck & thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment too ❤️

A great ACRONYM! I tend to shy away from magazine images..Will give them a chance. Perhaps use Matte gel medium over them to cut down the shine?

I do not like the shine of the magazine pages so I usually add matt medium, brush it over, seems to cut the glare. I love your work and your teaching style. Thank you.

This is lovely! What is it called slow stitch? It just looks like regular embroidery.

@@fyrtalker hi, I think in the journaling world it’s called slow-stitch because you slow down to do it and it’s very random, no traditional embroidery pattern is followed! You’ll see it a lot where the stitching on some hand-made journals is very random and all over the art, hope that helps? Where is a good place to start, to research copyright, use of magazines for selling journals? Your collage is fascinating and whimsical. Even with the modern images it has a Victorian-esque vibe. Love your channel,so glad to have found it. The S.M.I.L.E. Is brilliant!
