I am in the "love the gluey, inky hand camp." I love peeling the glue off my fingers at the end of a reckless abandon crafting session. Reminds me of being a carefree youngster and we would cover a hand with Elmer's glue, let it dry, and peel it off. Why can't we enjoy that as an adult? I do!

I went and bought a bunch of bankers boxes this past weekend and spent all weekend re organizing all of my book pages, scraps and ephemera that I had already made. Everything is well marked and in the garage now and it got a lot of stuff out of my living room. Now when I need something, I can just go get a big box of stuff and not have it all over my table. I just “Ferret” thru the box. Lol

Enjoyed watching you have fun with your paper scraps today, with my morning cuppa tea! My scrap pile got used up the other day, from making my first home made paper (using your tutorial of course)! It turned out quite beautiful). So thank you for explaining that process! Also, just a simple tip.... weeds and leaves dry especially nicely and super quick in the microwave between paper towels at 15 second intervals until dry. (for those who don’t have dried flowers at the ready). Any weed or wildflower looks just as pretty on diy paper and no cost way of embellishing. So very appreciative of your tutorials! Thank you!!!😁

These are cute Pam. I look at all of the craft stores that I have around me, used to, they sold 12 x 12 embossed pretty papers that had like a rose color and flowers or what ever on it, that went with the scrapbook papers. But they don't anymore 😕 I saw one piece of pink that was torn, and about 4 white that was mucked up. So if I want white I will have to order it. And search for the colored pieces. And maybe emboss it myself. But I don't have a big machine that will emboss, I just have a tiny little hand crank diamond Press machine. But mi point is that I would buy it to go with the paper"s I had picked out not so anymore 😪😪😕

Hi! I prepared a junk journal from an old book. A video I watched talked highly of using sports tape for reinforcing the spine. I was listening because I didn't know exactly where to by Tyvac. I went out and bought very strong, durable sports tape. Yay! I got home, opened it up and Lo and behold, it was....elastic stretchy...every direction...tight weave. I admit that I pulled off the paper and stuck it on the spine. Can you tell me why it would be a bad idea to use something strong but stretchy? (and don't everybody laugh!!) :-)
@robertahubert91553 жыл бұрын
This is new to me. I really don’t get it?? But to each his own. I always thought a journal was for writing in. This reminds me of my art class in the 3rd grade. I watched the entire video out of curiosity. Looks like a lot of fun..
@carolcrone93873 жыл бұрын
Junk journals got started because people wanted to save tickets, favorite papers, photos, memorabilia combined with an interest in book binding. Some books are collage art. The pockets hold odds and ends. You can use leftover patterned or colored papers, envelopes, periodicals, junk mail. They are popular as gifts to teenagers; I make them by the dozen because I love the process. Then I give them to anyone who will take one!
@robertahubert91553 жыл бұрын
@@carolcrone9387 I have heard of photo journals and my mother use to collect newspapers articles I get that kind of journaling just never seen anything like this kind of journaling. Look into a bit more and I think you might be amazed at what "junk journals" can encompass. Art, photos, tickets, collages, memories, receipts, tags, leaves, book pages, lace, ribbon, fabric, buttons, magazine cutouts, wrappers, more art, and more collages, all in one journal! And still room to "journal." It almost can't be defined and there are no rules! Check it out and hope you find it interesting. 👍
