That's how I feel too. I go in looking for a select few sets and get overwhelmed by having to scan every table filled with cards. Still a great experience and I would highly recommend!

Some of it's just personal preference. The Japanese Vending Series that I'm looking for in this video has really unique artworks and majority of people don't collect, but I love it! With newer sets, I've been purchasing a booster or two of the new set that comes out, with the hope that holding onto it for a couple of years will increase the value. I also follow pokemon tcg groups and pokebeach on fb to see what people's reactions are/what's hot 🔥

You can't go wrong with base set anything. But charizard is obviously a grail

Is there an online schedule of collector conventions that are centered around pokemon? I only ever see sports card show schedules

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything like that. I got the ad for Collect-A-Con on my Facebook feed about 2 years ago and that's how I found out about it

I got a photo with Gary last year no charge and saw a few people ask for photos with Chum for no charge. Pretty sure Jason is paid (not sure how much) but I got an autograph from Eric Stuart last year and I believe that I paid about $50 and I was able to use my credit card.
