Collect ALL 1,000+ Pokémon in ONE Binder (Pokemon Card Challenge)

In this Pokemon Card challenge, I have to collect a single card for every Pokemon in existence by Card Party Gen. 2. If I fail, I will have to give away the entire Gigabinder and all the cards to someone at Card Party.

@@nirmalasureka7194 The binder weighed 19.6lbs with nothing in it. Foil cards weight 2 grams each, ~1000 cards would weigh 2kg or ~4.5 lbs. I don't know how much 1000 sleeves weigh.

The next master challenge should be to do this same challenge but instead, only collect the Pokémon’s first appearance on a card. The first set a Pokémon is showcased on a card, that’s the card you must collect.

When printing out generation lists with their number you should have sorted them alphabetically. This makes finding the Pokemon a ton easier as you are trying to determine the number anyways. Food for thought on the next big binder challenge lol.

I have a binder called the beast binder, unlike the custom binder in the video, you can actually buy the beast binder, holds 1280 cards and is a 5x4 configuration, currently doing this challenge with that binder!

Pat! The sticky note idea is great but I was thinking sticky note for each line with the Pokémon’s name written on the sticky note as well. It’s a bit of work but it might help you be faster

This makes me so happy as this is how I collect and store my cards by national dex number and then a binder for each generation, at the back of the binder I have regional forms from that generations region. It’s how I have been collecting since I was a child. Gotta catch ‘em all. Ps. On the newer cards if they are not a full art the dex number is right under the picutre

Great idea but would be so much better if the cards for each Pokemon weren’t just random! Could be your favorite card of each Pokemon or a card picked by the community for example. Feels more tedious than rewarding when it’s just random cards thrown in a binder!

I'm so excited for this series!! I had a very similar idea for collecting - since the SV era has so many beautiful illustration rares, I'm gonna try to get the "Pokedex Binder" but with ultra rares, art rares etc. It'll be a daunting task, but totally cool by the end. Good luck to the both of us!

Great video, I'm going to love this series. This is something I'm working on myself as a side project (minus the gigantic folder of course!) I'm the same that they have to be dupes and not taken from mastersets I'm completing. So far I'm at 687 just from sets I'm opening. There's going to be a few tough ones like for instance I know Tyrunt only has 2 cards.

Regular cards (common, uncommon and rare) have the Pokédex number written on it. Even for the modern cards. It’s not available on special cards (full arts, GX, V Pokémon). Hope that makes your endeavour easier.

As someone who has done this it is difficult even over time. I started mine right before sword and shield came out. I wanted to down size my collection and realized if I wanted to complete the Pokedex that was my chance. So I went through my build and found that I needed 100 more. Got 40 more from the local card shop. Then traded people for twenty more in a few weeks. The last forty took some time. It does make each new set that comes out more fun as new Pokemon come out.

You can write a simple program using modular arithmetic to print out the page number, row number and column number for each entry in a list of Pokedex numbers. That might make it a bit less tedious to count and reduce potential for error.

Crazy that I see this kind of video and collection cause that’s exactly what my collection is; I called it the living Pokédex collection cause I based it off of my actual living Pokédex from the games I have stored in HOME and just like it, they’re all the original first printed cards of each Pokémon and I’m very close to completing this collection, and yes I do mean having Base Set, Neo, e-Readers, etc. I’m not exactly sure how to showcase the collection thought, like a video per region or just a big long video for the entirety of it? Either way I’m so excited to be almost done with it. PS. I also have an extra binder with the regional variants and various forms that have been printed, for example Deerling and Sawsbuck Autumn forms just got their first printed cards in Temporal Forces. Lol.

My main collection is the pokédex but with every pokémon's first appearance in the TCG. Like "this is the first Miltank to ever appear in the TCG". So far I've got over 200 pokémon, but it's a ver expensive colletion to complete (and an impossible mission, as well, considering there are cards that the first appearance was like "they only produced 10 copies of this card"). I'm loving your new mission to complete the pokédex!

I wish there was more of a community around this specific aspect of collecting. There are so many cool ways you can go about collecting this and there is a lot to discuss when it comes to card selection (rookie, full art, favorite version, most expensive, holo, non-holo, foreign, etc) (regional forms or no regional forms) how to display them (there is a 16 pocket 1200 card binder on amazon, but in a generation or so that's not going to be large enough so do you go with binder pages for expansion ability or do you go with a binder for each generation?)
