I have an old milk bottle I found in a crawl space in my basement in the house I grew up in, in Kensington. It's from Harbisson dairies in Philadelphia. It says"try our new ice cream". I've had it for about 40 years. In great condition. I always wondered about the historical value it might have. Or just to a collector. And exactly how old it might be.

Hello Your bottle is very common and has a value of 5 to 10 dollars. In your case there are very few collectors of milk bottles from Philadelphia. Milk bottles are a local thing. The bottle is around 70 years old. Sometimes the bottle is dated on the bottom usually 2 numbers. So 42 would be 1942. I hope this helps. John

@@penndutchoutdoors3674 wow! Thanks so much for your reply. I very much appreciate it. And knowing more about the bottle. If the old and only existing plant ever does get converted into apartments, it would make a nice decoration for the building. If they had a glass case with memorabilia inside.

I have one of those I found when excavating an underground fuel tank at a school along Harbisson avenue about 10 years ago it was 10 feet down with brick rubble all around it yet it was in perfect condition. I still have it.
