I just wish that we could reuse/repair some of the abandoned buildings, but you can't even make a fire to sleep in them...

I did! Just to the South East of it, away from bison so I can hunt them every season. And yeah, I tried taking down old buildings and we can't. Wish we could do that, especially since a couple other areas I wanted to build had the buildings too close.

Only bad thing about your spot is its extremely far away from any mines. Otherwise its a really nice spot to build in.

It's not that far away from one. Further downstream, where that brownish, half-moon like patch is, there is one right near the coast. That's where I'm building at the moment.🙂

The spot Rose is building at is a fantastic area. I honestly thought she'd pick the waterfall area. The only downside is that there are not a ton of trees nearby, but the view there is amazing, plus a mine right across the river from the waterfall. That was my first building area, sadly I'm not as creative in village layout as Rose is.

Same, I've started a village in the same area Rose chose and I'm following some of her building layout to help get me started. I'm in co-op but doing it all on my own. It's a bit daunting. Lol

I’ve had the Valley map for a while and my settlement is HUGE I deliberately spread everything out but it doesn’t lend itself to the cosy village feel so I think I’ll start a new game in Oxbow and go small. (actually did not occur to me that you could play single player on this map)

Just temporarily move your settings to infinite carry weight and full stamina and HP. You'll be ok. 😊

Also, if you have enough coin to buy an iron cross now and copper bolts, that's a one to two shot kill on most large animals. It is slower to reload but faster than an axe or recurve bow. If you are not wanting to change your settings.

I have my damage turned off, but animal damage can be set as low as 10. I get too stressed out when I get attacked, the animals are definitely more aggressive, the Bison are freaking me out lately lol
