Hi from 'Downunder' , thanks for your video. Just thought I'd comment on a couple of you Australian States stamps - the 2d stamp that has an SA perfin is actually a South Australian stamp varther than a Victorian one. Generally stamps perfined with the states initials were official stamps for use by the state's goverment departments, and the OS perfins like your Victorian one was for use by Federal government departments. What are now states of the Commonwealth of Australia ie: Victoria, NSW, Tasmania etc were originally (up to 1901) induvidual British Colonies that issued their own stamps, After Federation in 1901 all the states combined to become the Commonwealth of Australia. The very interesting (an a little bit scarcer) stam is the WA early 6d Swan which has a 'Commissriat' single hole puncture. These were used only by the colonies' authorities in charge of convicts & prisons etc, who oddly didn't report to the WA colonial government, but directly to London! )and you do find later Aussie stamps that have been punctured with a larger single hole for thelegraph use, particularly the high value (10/-, £1 & £2) Kangaroo issues. Hope this info helps!

Sometimes stamps can be rather complicated and hold little mysteries all their own!

Couple of other things - Australia's first Airmail stamp was issued in 1929 and is a 3d green stamp showing a plane flying over a pasture. The only other Airmail stamp was a 6d brown issued in 1931 in the same design as the Kingsford Smith set issued that year. A few other stamps, including your 2/- QANTAS, were mainly issued for airmail use but wern't official Airmail stamps. Australia's first postage dues were actually issued in 1902 and were just green in colour-the red & green design that you have were first issued in 1909, but they were based on the Victorian dues design of the 1890's. The 1902 green ones were based on the earlier pre-Federation NSW postage dues which were in turn based on the first US dues design. These are postage stamps rather than cinderellas, the just pay the postage after the event! The States stamps on the miniature (that what us Aussies & the Brits callt them)sheet that you showed features the first design of each Aussie colony. The top centre design is the 1850 2d 'Sydney View' stamp rather than a postage due

Hai, I enjoy watching your video's. In previous video's I had no problem with the focus. In this video it seems like that the auto focus is not on. Maybe it works better with close-up images when this is turnt on. But never the less I like your video's. Greetings from the Netherlands.

I think any place or subject is worth collecting if it gives you joy!

In some countries a big punched hole in a stamp means that it was used for telegraph purposes. Was that true for Australia?

Not sure, here in Canada a punch hole was also used by law offices.
