Thanks for watching! Totally agree. And it’s not that they are intending on pushing collectors out but a lot of them don’t realize how not limited some of the cards they are paying high dollars for actually are. The more we can help investors understand about the market they’ve jumped into the more realistic the prices ceilings will be. Right now it feels like there is no ceiling on overproduced base cards.

I AGREE WITH YOU NOT HAVING SOME OF YOUR CARDS GRADED. IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE OVER 30,000 CARDS. EVENTUALLY,PEOPLE ARE GOING TO PAY YOU WHAT THE FACE VALUE. I SEEN MANY RAW CARDS THAT APPEAR TO BE A GRADED 10. PAY EQUALLY FOR A RAW CARD IF IT's a 10 . we're just making company's like Beckett & pasa very Rich. I have a 8 SET CASE of 2017topps factory SEALED & I'M SURE there are some AARON JUDGE CARDS THAT QUALIFY AS A 10, BUT I'M NOTOPENING THEM TO FIND OUT. WHAT'S YOUR OPION.? BY THE WAY ... This was awesome! Very informative and will save people (me) hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Growing up at the flea market over 30 years I’ve met many vendors and recently someone I reconnected with a vendor that has thousands of auto and jersey cards in all sports. He’s offered me $1.75 per card and that sounds like a good deal. I don’t know much about sports but appreciate the supply and demand for any product. I pulled the trigger on about $800 worth of cards (my first large purchase of vintage and new cards). Can a person be a investor and collector at the same time? I don’t watch sports but like to collect the rarity of something.

2019-20 Prizm Kawhi Leonard #149 Silver Prizm. This is by far the best bargain deal in the hobby right now. These are going for less than $20 and Lebrons are going for like $300? WTF? If Kawhi wins Finals MVP this year he will have won (3) at a younger age than when Jordan had his first. On TOP of that with (3) different teams and this includes stopping the Miami Heat from 3-peating, stopping the Warriors from 3-peating and possibly forcing Lebron into retirement where he'll be doing Rogaine commercials. I'm sitting on like (100 of these cards and looking for many more), post on line and I'll find them - thanks!
@BasketballCardGuy4 жыл бұрын
That's awesome man! I totally agree about the disparity between the values. I think they all meet somewhere in the middle. I agree that Kawhi is too low, and also feel Lebron is too high. Great that you have so many!!!

Sounds exactly like what the critics of bitcoin and other crypto currencies used to say. There is a paradigm shift happening in the card market and its intellectually lazy to muck it up to market manipulation. Old school collectors are drastically underestimating the influx of new people into the hobby and where it is that they come from. Are hype beast sneakers going for $5000 because of market manipulation? Your hobby has been invaded by a new breed that is willing to play at higher stakes. The new investor looks at buying these cards as buying stock in the player. As a collector you view a cards value in its rareness and yes that does play a factor but to an investor in this new game, the card is just currency or stock. The game is being played with base cards and silvers because there are enough of those to go around. Look at the parallels in prizm. Are the rarest ones, the ones going for the most money? Nope. When you start looking at the cards as stocks you can see why the card being rare doesn't matter.
@BasketballCardGuy4 жыл бұрын
Great points and that’s why it’s important to follow where and when the price changes occurred. And how quickly they have changed. The new people in the market are looking for an expecting an increase in value. But im just showing that these shifts are short term and not sustainable. Cards have always been like stock in players, not just today. In the 90’s it was the same. When players do well their cards go up. When players don’t they go down. That’s always been the case. But when a card goes from $200 to $600 when the players aren’t even on the court is when manipulation is dictating the going rate on eBay instead of the playing.
@ill_wil_2104 жыл бұрын
@@BasketballCardGuy Cards might have always been like stocks but back in the 90's it wasn't truly a free market. The pricing magazines you spoke of set the price not the market. I think people are underestimating the influx of new people in the hobby. Luka's cards would have risen in value purely based on his play but when you add in the growth of the hobby its throwing a multiplier on it. The market will settle but its going to be hard to tell whats real and whats fake until the influx of new people slows down.
@BasketballCardGuy4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. A lot of it starts as a couple of people manipulating and then it shifts the market, as more people are willing to pay the new prices. It’s the group mentality that drives it.
