I was thinking the same, what a score, he probably bought them late 70s early 80s, mouton Rothschild had only been a first growth since 73 and back then even first growth were only $50-$150, different times!

Interesting cellar temperature. Preserving more than aging probably, which is what you'd want when you buy wine that's already peaking.
