I have quite a few Korean and Japanese beauty products myself. Sometimes I question whether or not I buy them because they're great products or because I'm just really attracted to the packaging. Maybe a little bit of both!

That is true. I picked up a lot of eyeliners, lippies and a few shadows when I visited Seoul last year and I am really liking them especially the Clio and Etude House. The Clio liquid liners are one of my favorites because the never move when you apply them. They stay on for my twelve hour workday:)!
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
yes! the clio seems to be a popular one, I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet.

I use tons of Korean products and I absolutely love. I have been using their products for years for my skin care. I love Laneige, which is my main skincare product. I don't tend to use the makeup as my complexion is deep and the makeup products are marketed for light complexion.
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Base products are definitely limited in skintone but there's still lots to play with with other colour makeup like lippies, blushers and eyeshadow though. I do love how much fun variety there is even in the more affordable price points.

I've been on the fence about the Mizon oh shy! foundation. I have oily t-zone but dry on the rest. I'll be waiting for your review on it before I order one for myself. I'm a sucker for packaging and the brand Shara Shara really caught my eyes,but I have very sensitive skin so I'm a little scared to try it. I also love the brand Benton for skincare and have been using it for almost 3 months now. Thank you for sharing Bunny,please do a video on your Japanese makeup & skincare collection. xoxo

Shara shara seems to be a newer brand on the market but growing fast, I've spotted quite a few of their items online already. Adorable packaging for sure!

I am completely in love with Korean cosmetics and basically all of my skincare & makeup products are Korean. I'd really recommend the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB for you, since it's water-based it dries to a matte finish and I think it would be good for your combo skin. Love all your reviews~ they're so in depth and informative! More people need to review products like you ^-^
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jamie~ I've actually tried the HH BB but didn't care for it too much, the dry down was just too powdery for my liking. Although I do have combination skin, I tend to prefer a satin or even glowy finish.
@jamjam7282210 жыл бұрын
Oh, okay then. Have you tried any BB cushions/cushion foundations?? It would be really great if there was a review on one, as in depth as yours ^^

After reading your review on the Mizon Snail Repair Ampoule months ago I was so intrigued by it I've just bought the all in one cream and ampoule :) so excited for it :)
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
do let me know how that goes! I didn't try the cream because of the mineral oil content and I break out easily with that in my skincare but i did find the ampoule to be very comfortable and soothing. You're a brave one though, many people wouldn't been too keen with snail products lol Have an awesome day Jeni!

The Skin Food Vita Mist is supposed to give your skin extra vitamins and help supplement your skin. I have an Essence spray (toner replacement) and I LOVE it, it sprays the same as the vita mist, and feels great (You use it after you wash your face before other products, some sprays you can use over your makeup if your feeling dry) I also use the A'Pieu CC cream! I love it~. It leaves my skin moist all~ day, the only down side is the concealer is a bit to coloured for me.(Hell'a pale =P)

Another great video :) how do you decide what shade of foundation you are? do you need to go into a makeup store? what korean products would you recommend for very dry sensitive skin>?
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Online swatches from other people do tend to help a lot when I'm shopping without being able to test in stores (esp when buying Asian products). For the most part I've tried out enough brands to have a general idea of what shade I would be but if you have the opportunity to do so, going into a makeup store and trying it on in person does help. My top recommendation for Asian products for very dry skin would be the Japanese Hadalabo series (which I believe now released a version in ULTA in the though I'm not 100% sure it's the same version as the Asia release) which is a winter favourite. It's unscented and very gentle along with being hydrating. Many of the "popular" Korean beauty products do tend to be highly fragranced but something like the Klairs brand might be worth a shot, I have sampled a few of their moist collection products though not in the full sizes. (Read more about them on Wishtrend.) Thanks for stopping by!

I'm always so happy when i see your video pop up in my subscriptions list! what your thoughts on retin-a / any type of retinoid products for keeping skin looking nice? my dermatologist prescribed me it about 2 yrs ago and have been using it ever since (first was for acne) and when i see new pdts you are showing i always have an urge to stop my current skin care routine and try new things!
@Sabby1998110 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the skin becomes addicted to retin-a, and when it it is not being used anymore, the skin will break out. So if you have been using retin-a for 2 years, there is a chance this may happen to you
@jlhl353010 жыл бұрын
Sabby19981 yes thats totally true but i do have an aunt whose close to 70 and has been using it for 15 years and her skin looks AMAZING for her age. on top of that my dermatologist herself swears by retin-a so i'm really torn whether to stop it and go try out new things!
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
No expert here myself but from experience I do remember using Retin-A and/or glycolic products (those usually marketed towards anti-aging) for acne care as it helps to decongest the skin. it does work but I try not to rely on them soley and do switch it up once in a while. I'll take a break for a while then go back but I don't use it long term. One thing i do find is that it can make skin a little more irritable and sensitive. As a whole though, having the Clarisonic in my life has made a huge improvement to the overall look of my skin.

I wanted to share my finds on Laneige at Target stores in the US. The line is not very extensive in stores or online and is only in select stores (check the website for where they are carried first.) They do carry some greatest hits. The White Plus Renew is now called "Bright Renew." They only carry the Emulsion, Night Cream, Serum, and SPF. They also carry the Sleeping Mask. They carry most the basic cleansers, basic toners, and some of the Water Bank line. BB Cushion is the only available make up. Even though it is limited, I'm so happy to finally try the products you have recommended. I stocked up on all the Bright Renew products, the Deep Pore Cleansing Foam, Power Essential combination/oily toner, and Sleeping Mask. The products did come completely sealed and seemed like fresh product. Thank you so much for the recommendations!

Thanks for sharing this! We don't it in our Target yet but it seems they have a decent range in the States. I believe the BB Cushion actually has more shades in the US than they do in Asia and is a bit cheaper too.

Brilliant video !!! As always ! Can you recommend a product that works in the same way as Cure Aqua gel but maybe better ? Thanks x
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, I'm not sure about working better per say as I haven't tried the Cure Aqua Gel myself though I've heard much about it but there is a product called the Mannan Peeling Gel (from B&C brand / Japan) that seems to work in a similar way. I have it myself and it's a watery gel that balls up when massaged on dry skin. I'm not too familiar with gommage products or peeling gels, much more of a physical exfoliator type of person.

PBunnieP It says in the description that that's what you were wearing, and since it looks so good I wanted to know if you'd review it :)
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Meg McCrary Oh the one I'm wearing, yes! I'm not a huge fan of it as the colour goes a tinge grey on my skin in real life...something just looks a little "off" when I put it on. I tried to correct it a little with some powder / blush but it's far from a favourite. on the flip side, it does have great coverage and smell lovely but that's really about all I have to say about it I'm afraid.

Tiny Nguyen Welcome to my little chunk of the blogosphere! My experience with Laneige products is actually pretty limited (mainly because they are hard to get a hold of), I've tried a few skincare and base products and that's it. I'll keep that i mind when I have more experience with the brand :)

I love the packaging of the Holika Holika powder, this plastic thing inside is so practical, helps keep the puff and the product itself clean :) I haven't tried too many Korean products, so far I can recommend Dr G Hydra Intensive BB Cream, it's great for combination skin. What about Japanese skincare? I'd love to see a video on all Japanese producst you have now or have tried. I'm in love with the SK II treatment mask and want to get the essence so badly :)

I still love my Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream in Bright Fit. I don't think you're a big fan of that one, but I have like Holika Holika Luminous Silk too, so I usually choose between those two when it comes to BB creams. I also really like this product by Skinfood called Lime Secret Glam Glow. I'm not exactly sure what its original purpose is supposed to be, but I like to mix it with either a BB cream or foundation to make it lighter or slightly more glowy. The only other products I can think of off the top of my head are the Etude House Cookie Blushers. I have way too many of those, but my favorites are Blueberry Pie and Grapefruit Jelly. They're just really pretty and unique shades. Great video! I see several products I'd like to pick up when I have the chance. =)

I've always wanted to try the Laneige skincare products but I'm sensitive to dimetichone, can you tell me if and which of the prouct you own have it in their inci? Between the skincare products I've tried so fare my favorites are the TonyMoly Intense Care Dual Effect Sleeping pack, Honey Appletox and the Etude House Collagen Mostful Cream, as for makeup I love the natural look so I'm into jelly tints, my current on is the TonyMoly Water Jelly tint in pomegranade
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
I dont have the full ingredients lists for the Laneige products unfortunately but I believe they likely all contain dimithicone as it is an extremely popular ingredient. I do like the Tony Moly Pack as well! Great stuff and definitely makes a difference.
@wonderlesshaze10 жыл бұрын
Tony Moly has a new product called bcdation. Its suppose to be a combination of bb cream, cc cream and foundation together. Since some people say that bb cream has a thicker consistency and fuller coverage than cc cream, cc cream is thinner and has less coverage. Has anyone tried this yet? Since there is no reviews on it yet...
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've heard about this one! Seen it from their facebook page and then from a few sellers on ebay but haven't tried it myself. From the Asian products I've used thus far, I do generally feel that CC creams are more moist and has less coverage and usually has more of a glowy finish.

i found the mizon cc cream way too dry, enhanced dry flakes and had a super strong white cast
@WeekendsWithG10 жыл бұрын
Really? That's odd, of the few times I've used it so far it seemed quite moist (at least on my skin) but I did use it in conjunction with the spray so not sure if that made a difference. I've seen Mizon put out 2 more CC Creams, one in a hot pink tube and another in a white/cartoon tube...not sure how different they are though.
