I really do not hear much Grieg, but it is still a stirring piano concerto. (Opinion not endorsed by my three cats >^..^< )

I have also got three cats but must partially disagree with you. I can hear Grieg (not anywhere but more than somewhere) although he would have certainly orchestrated his concerto in a somehow more nuanced way and less turgidly. Solo piano part itself is also too much "Hollywood's molasse" style: Grieg would have never realized that way. Yet, there's no other way to listen to Grieg's unfinished work, so ..... OK with it
