I like how Ross Childress plays, dude can bend a note.

I know what he did was wrong but his contribution to CS was big. You can hear a big difference in the no Ross Childress CS albums VS the ones he's on. Ed has always been the main writer but Ross played guitar in such a way that was perfect for every song. Every note carefully laid. I love his tones. The lead guitar parts post Ross are missing a special something they once had. I know it probably won't happen but I'd love to see the lineup from the first 5 albums reunite just once to make an album together and maybe tour or at least play a handful of shows. The magic they had was something else. The music they made TOGETHER was so special. I saw the video where Ed flips on an audience member for shouting Ross's name during a show. It's easier to love than hate. Ross lost her anyways & Ed moved on so why can't they just come together in the name of music and all that's good in the world? Hey I can dream.

Seriously. The last chorus is just ridiculous. It's such an awesome sound!

@@Justanothercrow123 @Justanothercrow123 These guys are so underappreciated, Ed and Dean Roland tapped into something so incredible. I remember the first time I heard Shine on the radio, I was telling my wife that I loved this, and she bought me the Hints, Allegations, and Things left unsaid CD for my birthday in 94, 30 years now, and I've been a fan ever since. super talented, all of them. watch their Woodstock 94 set with Childress on guitar, amazing.

Back in the early 2000's when this came out, I bought this album. I worked the night shift as a dishwasher at a Flying J restaurant in Ogden Utah. I would walk to work at night and sing this song with my headphones on turned all the way up as it was my favorite song on the album. One night it was really dark walking to work I was doing my thing. Just singing along getting really into it and this middle-aged man slowly rode past me on a bicycle just smiling at me and laughing. Scared the hell out of me and I was also embarrassed as I would never sing in front of anyone. I always remember that when I hear this song and it makes me laugh. Thank goodness it wasn't one of the nights I was listening to Sarah McLachlan.

I remember listening to the comments on the song, about the seemingly random glass breaking sound repeating through all the song. Very clever. Ed's not only a great singer/writer/composer, but also producer.
