Ross is truly brilliant! It's always a thrill to watch him jam that frickin' guitar.

During the 90's, when rock music was REALLY flooded with musical talent, Ed, Ross, & the rest of CS were solid as a rock. Their sound has always been simple and tight. No nonsense rock music, so to speak.. they rock! ;D

i've seen Ross and the band do a cover of Ozzy'z Crazy Train and Ross nailed the solo perfect!! He is a great player, and severely underrated!! It sux the way life falls!

It really does. Back when I first hward them I was a little kid and my mom bought the self titled album on cassette when i was like 3 back when it came out, and I LOVED it. And we disnt have internet access until I was in like 7th or 8th grade, and I found out they had other albums about that time and got their other albums, and then when youth came out i was in like 9th grade or so, and it made me so sad Ross wasnt in the band because he was a big influence in my early guitar playing, and it made me so sad when I found out why he ended up leaving the band, I cant imagine how rough that was for both of them. I mean I felt the worst for Ed but i still did feel bad for Ross to some degree. Idk it just sucks that things like that happen.

Is that Toronto? I spent so much time running around that part of town in the early-mid 90's, but I don't remember Collective Soul coming to perform. But there were (and still are) great musicians that played there all the time in summer. Ah, I miss the carefree days of youth in a really kickin' city!

That's never gonna happen. It sucks cuz i love Ross, but naw that is not gonna happen cuz of what happened. But tbh their current lead player is fantastic too, he was a great replacement even if i do have a bias towards Ross's lead playing. Ross was way more creative and u hair than people give him credit for, he totally created his own really brilliant and unique style and never gets credit for it, they were always ahead od the curve back then and it just really impresses me knowing they did what they did. His playing on dosage was just brilliant stuff, I dont understand how he even had the mind to come up with it. But it makes me sad he never gets any credit for doing so much of that, collective soul doesn't get as much love as they should.

@XoxAjuicetrayxoX go to a video post by davidq83 for collective soul doin crazy train and listen to the song and tell me that Ross isnt the shit!!! He sounds great and has quick fingers and not only that, if you listen to previous cd's of their's with Ross, the music is more rock oriented and is definitely stronger. I am still a fan of the current stuff but the time with Ross was just better.

Eds voice was fantastic as this point. I have seen Soul recently and when they played Where the River Flows I felt I got raped in the ass by how simple the guitar solo sounded..... I miss Ross as well :o( Favorite part of this song is 2:29 - 3:01 Anyways... I still love this group.

Naw man the new guitarist just did his own thing, he's a great guitar player. He could definitely play that breakdown guitar part. Its a dope riff but I dont think its so hard that he couldn't play it.
