how does the rgb work? my RX6700XT sakura uses the 3pin 5V ARGB does it still use the same 3pin 5V?

This one does not have an ARGB connector, it has its own lighting scheme and switches that lets you turn the RGB on or off.

My coil whine was atrocious out of the box but now it went away, what about yours? Also has the perfume smell gone away yet for you? It kind of gives me a headache lol

I still don’t understand, is it possible to change the backlight modes on a video card? If so, how? Through the motherboard or your application? Or is it (the backlight) generally fixed.

Generally, unless the GPU manufacturer has its own software or an ARGB cable on the card (see the Sakura variant of the card) or manual controls on the card you won’t be able to change the colors of the card’s RGB.

Yea the coil whine is pretty loud when I dumped a whole lot of load on the GPU. It might be a bit better if it’s in a proper case rather than a test bench.

Depends on the case you are using, for the common o11D the lian li vertical mount should be fine. Check with your case manufacturer if they sell a GPU vertical mount. Another option is I believe cooler master also sells universal vertical gpu mounts.

do you reccomend the 7900xt over the xtx if i have i7 8700k i play on 1440p and the mother board is pcie 3 not 4 i have the radeon vii now... and about the coil whine is it really that noticable

Honestly with the price difference between the two being around $150, I feel like it’s still better to spring for an XTX with the caveat being that if the price difference between the two grows to at least $250 usd, then the value proposition of the XT would be more acceptable. As for the coil whine, it’s pretty bad but that’s with an open bench, I feel like it’s going to be better inside the case

@@lumia_dayZ it should be fine, though you should expect some performance loss and bottlenecks. (Prolly about 15-20% performance loss, from what I gathered online.)

@@lumia_dayZ From what I've seen online the PCI Gen does not seem to matter that much when it comes to gaming. (Check out Gamer's Nexus' coverage on the topic though he did use the 4090 but you can probably scale the difference to the 7900xtx kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGO2pqyffdhghZY). Its a pretty big leap of performance going from a 5 year old gpu to a current one, my advice is that if it fits your budget its a pretty solid GPU.

Everyone complaining about thermals... I really like the aesthetics of the card but can't bring myself to drop a grand on a card with bad thermals.

Thermals I'd say around its average, the worst part of the card tbh is the Coil whine, cause man its pretty bad.

Honestly its still 50/50 for me. They do have good designs on some cards, while others are straight up bad.
