I love that there's a such a massive discrepancy between an S2000 D and a 240sx D. An S2000 D is like, "oh this piece of trim is missing". While a 240sx D is like, "non-running engine, no transmission, rust/stickers everywhere"

I remember seeing in 2013 or 2015ish, I used to live down the street from this dealership (Diamond motorworks) and this was when they were getting started, they had a 4-5 Honda S2000 CRs all in one lot, alongside 7-12 supra turbos. Over half of the supras were manual and anniversary editions. Probably the last and first time I'll ever see that many Supras and CR S2000s all in one spot. I think I might have pics of the lot, I'll have to check my old iphone if I can find it.

Love looking at the s2k but since I’ve worked at Honda, worked on a few s2k’s it’s a headache of a car trying to find OEM parts for it, and it’s so small inside for me at least lol

As an S2000 owner, it's at its best on the track or autocross. The car is totally wasted street driving and I'd rather be in something more useful and quiet for daily driving. The real atrocities are people that stance them and drive them around like that all the time.
@evil1st11 ай бұрын
yea its good at the track but stock, its basically a waste of money and for that insane "popularity tax" of it costing as much as a new F150 2 door you are better off buying a different car, (if you didnt buy one before tiktok made it some kind of legend car, which its not)
@nateTrh10 ай бұрын
@nitroxylictv I mean, it's still the cheapest way to get that high rpm rwd driving experience. It's doable to find examples between $12-18k but mileage and quality will vary. For under $20k and under 120-140k ish miles, I still think it's a special experience but you have to actually drive it and not strut around in it like soccer moms do with G Wagons at the mall.

I actually enjoy street driving mine. Yes I do some spirited driving in the mountains sometimes, but I prefer cruising around and just enjoying the ride. Plus mine is in excellent condition and I will not be beating on it as I plan on keeping it for the long haul.

As someone who lists cars on FBM for work, I can tell you sometimes FBM will just change shit on your listing and it has to be a glitch. A few SAAB convertibles I listed kept changing themselves to automatics no matter how many times I set it as a manual. FBM is glitchy as hell.

Around 2002 a guy on my local car forum had an AP1 he was lightly modding. He went on a touge run setup by the group and had some issue where vtec kicked in when he was going through a corner with gravel on the road from a hidden driveway and fishtail before sending the car off a cliff edge and mowing down about 15 trees. He survived and the seats were still in good enough condition that he was able to sell them lol. Everything else was trashed

In 2013 or so, I was thinking of trading off my Prelude for an S2k. The car looked real good, had about 75,000 miles on it, and they wanted 9k for it. Seeing as I was a jobless college student, it didn't happen. I could have had an investment that I could drive!

Honest question, if a car is on its 2nd engine (19:25 grey s2k) why is that a bad thing? If the engine is newer wouldn’t it be a little more reliable? Or does the engine replacement mean maybe other parts are faulty that failed the previous engine?

Anything above $12k for an S2000 is asinine. You are paying base model BMW prices for an old riced out Honda that was a daily driver for some kid with daddy money. The only person to pull off driving one was Suki because it definitely doesnt look like something a man would drive. It fits the category that the Miata is in, being that its small and makes any grown man look ultra gay driving one, not that thats bad its just not really an image you want pulling up to the meet with the homies. 🤣 For $30,000 buy a freaking used 98 240SX for christ sake. You could buy TWO OF THEM for that price and have a better car to take to the track and a second one to daily. For $30,000 you could buy a late 2000's M5... and have enough left over for bolt ons.
@user-ek5nl1jc4b10 ай бұрын
I can tell you have never owned one and prob never driven one. It is easily one of the best drivers cars ever made. I can assure you that in the 10+ years I've owned one, that no one has thought I was "gay" and it gets plenty of attention and appreciation at car meets and gatherings. Go buy a clapped out 240 or an unreliable BMW all you want, no s2000 owner will envy you or think you are in a better vehicle. There is a reason these cars are going up in value, it's because they are great drivers cars that are reliable, simple and fun. I have a feeling you don't own anything interesting at all and just want to complain.
