I am a Seikoholic. You are the Godfather of Seikoholics. Gerald, please do a thorough review of your collections, vintage as well as the new ones. I have a few dozens of Seiko myself, including a number of GS 9R, 9S, and 9F. But, I do not have any vintage pieces. I would love to learn from you. I hope there is a reissue of the VFA soon. That would rock the watch industry once again., and it's about time. My Swiss chronometers do not keep its promises like the GS. Even many of 6R movements have chronometer accuracy. For a few hundred dollars, we have Unspecified Chronometers, and they look luxurious as well.

Much respect. I myself am a Seiko lover. Seiko has given to me throughout my entire watch journey, I feel like a sellout when I eventually decided to get a Luxury Swiss for recognition or to prove that I made it in life. Having said that, I have since returned back to Seiko because I don't forget my roots.

This guy makes me feel good about collecting Seiko watches. My other affinity goes for Orient watches. They (Orient) have been getting more popular lately..

I have a 1971 King Seiko 4502-7001. The design and manual wind Hi-Beat movement make an absolutely amazing watch. Even by todays standards, its amazing! The VFA showed just how capable the Hi-Beat movement was. Had mine serviced a week ago and the watchmaker said that it showed virtually no wear. A testament to how robust these movements truly are.

Amazing collection. I have a 1971 King Seiko 4502-7001 which shares the case and movement with VFA but not as finely adjusted. It is arguably one of the best movements Seiko has ever produced and I'd say one of the all time greatest Hi-Beats. Gotta love a manual wind Hi-beat!. If Seiko were to make a re-issue of it today, it would be a 10k watch!!!

I don't understand why people feel like they need to be in the Seiko camp or the Swiss luxury camp. I have Swiss watches, along with several Seikos. Love them all!

Outstanding and excellent collections, very inspiring for me as I have been researching on vintage Grand Seiko, currently I’m only traveling to various cities of japan looking for GS, if u happen to know any good websites selling vintage GS outside Japan, please let me know. Thank you

I love the brand also, enough to have traded my Rolex for a Grand Seiko SBGR061 and love it, owned it for three years now and it has not skipped a beat. Great collection Gerald, I know it’s not a GS but are you also interested in getting an example of the very first quartz wrist watch they made, it would be a great addition to your historic collection.

The hammered finishing looks mighty nice. I wouldn't mind if Seiko chose to pick up this process once more (hopefully, in a somewhat lower price bracket).

As far as I know, there aren't any listed that high. The most expensive on that I could find is the SBGD205, which sells for 185k USD (that's still pretty expensive though).
