I’ve learned from my siblings that it’s not all about good grades, a lot of colleges look for improvement and a drive to learn.
@supernova_7574 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right. Grades are just for them to know whether or not you can cooperate with their standard education. Their major focus lies on is the student actually willing to learn? So the desire to learn is more important than the grades received.
@guadalupechirino-roux21104 жыл бұрын
actually this really hepls me bc i’m an international student but i would love to go to a usa university, and i’m super stressed about my grades and extracurriculars :( do you guys have any tips?
@supernova_7574 жыл бұрын
@@guadalupechirino-roux2110 I am an international student too. One of my biggest(and craziest) dreams is to study at my dream university in the USA. I am specifically talking about Harvard whose acceptance method varies from student to student. Harvard does not accept the same kind of students. Every student is different and unique in his own way. You'll find variety of students studying at Harvard. These students were good at their own field; everyone's not an international sports player there, so you definitely need not worry about that. Just stand out, and show them why you are unique. Your own capabilities, extracurriculars and talents will lead your way through the admission process. These reaction videos are just to motivate you and give you an idea of how students get into these colleges and it's definitely not asking you to become one of them to get into college. Just be real. Do some really amazing extracurriculars. You can create your own unique extracurriculars. Be passionate and show that passion in your extracurriculars. Secondly, grades. Well, I am no expert but I have seen people on KZbin who got into Harvard with B grades. Mark what I said. Grades just make up 20-30% of your application. Rest lies on your extracurriculars, essays, talents and skills. Stand out, do some creative things during your high school years, and you'll be fine. Dare to dream! No worries. Stay productive, and give your best.

But how do colleges assess your willingness to learn?
@supernova_7574 жыл бұрын
@@caotuanvo8480 You show your willingness to learn through your extracurriculars, your activities, and your essays. To give you an idea, I am interested in python and I am willing to master it. I'll show this in my extracurricular list. I started learning python since 9th grade, so it counts as your extracurricular. Secondly, I am interested in space and research, so I'll start my own research and get some good results. I will mention this in my essay. It's as simple as this. But you should be willing to learn. This curiosity is revealed in your essay. Essay is your voice,and admission officers should feel that willingness of yours by reading your essays. Hope this helped!

THE NAME OF THE COLLEGE YOU GO TO DOES NOT MATTER!!! Congratulations if you make it and I am in no way taking away her moment or anyone else who gets into the school of their dreams. It’s an amazing feeling and congratulations, truly! But do not feel discouraged watching this and feel as though this is a defining moment for you. I wish someone told me this when I was in high school. I personally worked my whole life towards going to a major four year university and got into some amazing schools! I decided on UCSD because the location, prestige in terms of UC, and it specialized in my major at the time. Here I am three years later, no longer enrolled, and now pursuing a career in nursing (and my BSN) after transferring units and taking more pre reqs. I’m only sharing my story for those of you who may have not gotten into your dream school or feel as though you will not reach this level of “success.” YOU define your level of success and there is more to life than the name on the crewneck you will buy your freshman year and wear like your life depends on it for a span of three months (speaking from experience) haha. Again, if you have gotten in to amazing schools and to the girl in this video, congrats!! Those endless hours of extra curriculares and studying paid off. You will never work a job where someone asks you “what college did you go to?” because regardless, you will end up where you need to be and where you worked for! ✨
@desireenichole_4 жыл бұрын
Also, I did not take this easy and I am in no way invalidating that shitty feeling when you don’t get what you think you worked for. Like she said there are so many factors on college acceptances! They vary year from year and it is in no way a direct reflection of you. When I decided to leave UCSD I didn’t tell my family for a year and struggled day by day to survive and pay rent just to stay in San Diego because of the shame I thought I’d feel because I was no longer doing the “right” thing (going to a 4 year). I ignored my friends, family, and isolated myself! I understand how stressful it is and how much pressure may be on you because of your parents or your fellow peers who are getting into these amazing colleges, but you will be okay!!!! As long as you have good intentions, work hard, and follow your heart (I hate how corny it sounds) you will be okay! At the time I thought my world was ending and I was in such a bad spot in my life. Three years later I live in a beautiful home in San Diego with my boyfriend and three dogs, have a great job, am back in school, and am so deeply loved by my friends and family. Good luck seniors and remember everything will be okay ❤️

I don’t know your situation but I am first generation and my dad didn’t speak to me for months after I told him I left UCSD. It was hard but parents sometimes think they know what’s best for us, but again, three years later we are all happy and he’s just proud that I’ve come this far and figured it out! You have sooo much life left to live and I PROMISE YOU at his decision will not make you or break you.
