I’m a mid-30s mom of a toddler. I’m an immigrant and my son was born here. I passionately watch college acceptance videos cause they make me happy and think of what my kid can do. I rarely ever comment on videos though. Even though I do not know you, I am incredibly proud of your achievement and you. I can only imagine how proud your parents must be to not only see your hard work but also theirs and their sacrifices come to a fruitful new beginning with your college journey! I'm really thankful to you for making and uploading this video. I have been really demotivated and out of battery to prepare for my college applications and start prepping stuff for it bcz ill be becoming a senior at highschool this year. It is one hell of a ride but thank you for giving me hope and energy to actually get up and take action. I really liked the wholesomeness of your video, even filming while at the restaurant that your immigrant parents apparently started. A lot of us, even if not immigrants, came from blue-collar backgrounds, and so getting into university was a celebration for the entire family. Your parents must be very proud of you.

Guys I have no idea if I could get into my dream schools, so I hope u guys can give an advice or any thoughts on my stats! my dream schools are UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC or UCSD. I have a straight As GPA and currently a rising senior. I took 5 AP classes in junior year and will take another 4 or 5 during senior so total 10 AP classes. I've got all 4s on 5 AP exams. (AP Chem,Bio, Cal bc, microecon, psyc) For my EC, I'm a president in student government and founder&president of 3 clubs. I'm also co-president of another 4 clubs. I did volunteer work for covid-19 for like 80 hours and working as a marketing manager&translator at a small company. I also took precollege summer program at Brown university and have a international barista expert license. I'm an editor in journal club, president of science,math,debate club and captain in volleyball club. Doe these sounds like enough? I will apply Biology major.

Are you in California? If so, your chances of getting into a UC goes up significantly if you're in the top 9% of your class.

I'm sure you're in the first decentile if you have straight A's, but as a warning, UC's have been pressured by our governor to accept more instate students, so OOS and international students may get squeezed out. However, you have very good stats and EC's so work on your UC essays this summer and you should be good for top tier UC. Good luck!

@@Doofenschmirtz1234 Princeton is objectively a better school for just about any major, MAYBE with the exception of finance related degrees (if you're at Wharton). Princeton still places far more students per capita into quant / HF / PE. Penn does slightly better for IB, thats about it

To make a group of admissions portals, you can follow these steps: 1. Favorite the tab using the star at the top of the browser 2. Rename the website to whatever you'd like "Columbia Portal" 3. Click on "Folder" and find "Choose another folder..." at the bottom 4. Click on "Bookmarks Bar" and then choose "New Folder" in the bottom left corner 5. Rename and re-add to this folder for the rest of your admissions portals! Hope this helps! If not, let me know and I'll try to re-explain

Heyy I'm an International student going into my senior year and starting my uni application process very soon, but unfortunately for our school we have a strict limit of max 10 colleges that we can apply to(all UK unis count as one and all UCs count as one) . Although I do understand the extra work it might take for applying to more unis, I'm really struggling to decide upon which top unis and ivies I should apply due to this limitation. Therefore, for the unis that you got accepted in, do you think there's something in particular in your application that impressed the specific college or do you think luck also played a huge role in this?
