Physics base engine can carry broken ass codings for a while, but it mask or bad aid solution. Once frostbite a first person shooter engine which hasn't been maintained or properly updated. Only compound the problem as animation can't run on that engine properly and on top of broken ass codings from year of lord 2012 plus other shit after that you get this ham beast fuck. I have seen a video where supposedly on kick offs if you aim for just off center direction and kick with about half power it will cause the CPU returner to run through the ball as it bounces and will supposedly screw up the return team so they get a terrible return or it will count as a muff/fumble if your team can get down their fast enough to recover it. Some of you Madden 25 er, CFB 25 players will have to test this out.

I just saw this in a game I watched. Defender returned a 97 yard pick six, because none of the pursuers took the proper angle. They kept all getting behind him and trying to run him down from behind. Nobody took the proper angle to cut him off and knock him out of bounds.

I figured out after the first day just running stretch/outside zone on Heisman in Dynasty that I shouldnt turn upfield when the corner is outside the runner.....no, i could just head straight for the corner then run laterally towards the sideline because the corner would always freeze, let me get outside then chase me from behind.... There is no more challenge / stakes when cheeseball slop like this exists at every turn in the game. The "community" will argue that its the responsibility of the user to regulate themselves (around the game) so you dont take advantage of the holes in the game

Easily one of the biggest problems with the game. Feels a bit intentional though, so they can make the run feel more “rewarding” and “revamped”. Plenty of big plays due to clearly abysmal pursuit angles.

That would give EA too much credit. There is no purpose behind this behavior on the field. Watch all those defenders. Its the same animation and same pursuit target whether the player is 3 yards or 30 yards from the ball carrier. This is also why the run game is jacked up because unless you over commit to stopping the run, your inside linebackers fly to the sidelines at the snap even though they have run action directly to them. You CANNOT play defense in the game if the CPU is going to behave like that. It defeats the point of play calling if the players don't even execute their assignment and everyone is free balling

It's funny that broken pursuit angles are back. The reason I say that, broken pursuit angles were a problem in NCAA 08 on the PS2. I'm not even kidding. Sit down and play a game on NCAA 08 and call an outside run or a toss, whatever. Instead of the linebackers trying to stay on the front shoulder and closing down on you like they should, they just clamp down on you immediately and run right by you. This ISN'T a new problem. This has been a thing for a while now. Four console generations now. Even if these guys ARE college players, one of the VERY first things you are taught to do when you play football is how to properly tackle. This is shit you should already know by high school. If you are in high school and try to tackle like this, you are getting cussed out. If you do this in college, you are getting benched. If you do it in the NFL, your ass is getting cut. Too far inside and you're getting ran past, too far outside and you leave a wide open cut lane. If you ARE too far inside, you should be running BACKWARDS to cut off the run, not running to the fucking ball carrier knowing you're not going to make the play. It's funny because I was watching a CPU vs CPU game and I saw a defensive player totally miss a tackle and turn around and start running behind the ball carrier. It gave up a TD. I looked at it and I was like "WAIT WAIT WAIT... this issue is fucking 17 years old and it's still a thing?" A lot of the things people complain about is like... I mean it's the first game of it's kind since NCAA 14. I think it is better than Madden, still far from perfect, but at least it's a better base than anything Madden has. If there was EVER a moment "A step in the right direction" was actually applicable, it's definitely this. I think it CAN be improved upon, only question is WILL it be improved upon. THIS issue however to me is inexcusable because it was a problem SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO. It was one of the many issues that ruined NCAA 08. I don't understand how the actual football players can be a part of EA's team for these games and you can't get PURSUIT ANGLES right. I'm about to let my inner coach out, so excuse me; I don't expect it to be 100% perfect, I expect the code to kinda bug out with coverage sometimes but for FUCKS sakes dude this is basic football 101 stuff. You're not getting Hi-Lo'd, you're not having your zone stretched. There is absolutely nothing to think about. You're not having to worry about crossing routes attacking your zone or a smash concept, or anything like that in this scenario. The play has already been made, there is the ball, get in front of the god damn carrier and make the tackle. That doesn't require a Harvard degree to figure out. This is shit taught at the Middle School level.

So I ended up caving and buying my preorder anyway on CFB25 even when I said I was going to cancel it. Jumped into Practice to get used to the new mechanics. Immediately noticed the blocking AI issues. As Ohio State, their playbook (idk about any other teams) consists of Play Action plays that literally take like 2-3 seconds to get the QB to set up before throwing and by then, the defense is already in the QB's face for the sack and the thing is I had it on random plays so I don't even know what the plays are (which that was on me.) So a day or so after playing on practice I jump into Dynasty and rebuild the Pac12 and put Texas and Oklahoma back in the Big12 and the custom conference rules are so limited in terms of selecting the conference championship stadium. There's only like 5 choices if that and there isn't even a "default" choice or something for teams that have an NFL Stadium for their championship game (like Lucas Oil Stadium for the Big10) so I couldn't even go in their custom rules and change it back to East/West in fear that the championship wouldn't be in Indianapolis. There's also no "Protected Rivals" setting either (unless I missed it somewhere.) Last thing, what is up with this Week 0 bullsh*t? That makes no sense. I started the Dyansty as Kentucky and scheduled to play No. 9 Michigan and beat them by two scores. Week passes by and Kentucky wasn't ranked which was odd imo but I thought maybe Kentucky was just that low in the rankings I guess but... Michigan didn't even drop in the rankings until Week 2 (which should be Week 3 because wtf is Week 0?) Eventually I got to be No. 24 after going 3-0 going into No. 10 Georgia (they lost to Clemson) so here I was thinking, did a bug potentially screw my team out of being ranked earlier in the season? Last, last thing which is a pretty funny glitch actually (nothing gameplay wise or gamebreaking) is that occasionally that the male faces/heads (especially the ones with facial hair) on cheerleaders will be on the female cheerleaders bodies (that or EA went woke by making Transgender College Cheerleaders. Will try to get pics of that to send to Ryan Tldr: Do I regret buying it? Maybe a bit. Overall I'm still having fun with it but compared to NCAA 13 which is the last NCAA Game I had before this one, this a downgrade

@TheLoc0 the menu music doesn't bother me. The tackling is bad, I really haven't come across a fast qb, honestly lol, and the sidelines could be better. Also, I hold down the x button, and it skips cut scenes.

Worst pursuit angles unless you're a 99 speed and 99 acceleration RB with a breakaway down the sidelines, then them fuckers take perfect angles everytime and magically get 100+ speed to come from the opposite side of the field and track you down 30+ yards down field

I tried 4 different road to glory careers and every one of them got stuck at some point on text messages. Click and nothing. Then when you load it’s on that same screen so they’re all completely stuck. I’ve tried everything. I’m not the only one either. Completely broken and unplayable

Went 8-5 overall online. I’m officially done with the game until they fix this. It’s beyond frustrating to watch the cpu set you up for failure on D time and time again with these angles. There’s no way to compensate for them.
