Alabama STILL somehow gets into EVERY playoff regardless of record.

who would you put in instead? Miami has lost 2 of last 3 games to unranked Teams. South Carolina lost Head to Head and Ole Miss was behind Alabama last week and didn't impress this week. So who? Alabama doesn't Deserve to get 12th spot but can't argue they have best wins and there SOS is better than the other considered.

@@davidcole2337 Bama has lost to two unranked teams as well, and got curb stomped by a bad Oklahoma team. The teams Miami lost to were better than the two teams Bama lost to.

Alabama is super inconsistent on the road. I say South Carolina should get in cause they play better on the road which is what they have to do as the 12th seed... Be able to win multiple games on the road

@golfermanjim5622 it's true that both of those teams have terrible losses. But I feel like the other 2 or 3 teams that are also looking for that 12th spot also have bad losses. And in South Carolina's case, 1 out of their 3 losses were lost because of the refs. They lost a close game on the road against Alabama who is undefeated at home (even more close than the Georgia game). And I think everyone is allowed to drop an egg. Sure they had a bad loss to ole miss but the same could be said for other teams like Notre Dame (lost to NIU), Miami (Lost to 2 unranked teams and gave up a lot of points), Indiana (Bad loss to a 2 loss Ohio State team and weak schedule), and SMU if they lose to Clemson (cause that would boost SC's resume even more) I think if Clemson wins then SMU will have to be behind SC.

@ I’m counting the 24 point loss to Ole Miss and barely scraping by Old Dominion. The SEC is down this year and a lot of their teams really shouldn’t have been ranked. The loss to LSU isn’t good either.

@golfermanjim5622 lsu, ole miss and alabama all ranked in the top 25. And a win is a win so if you want to talk old dominion that's pretty silly. The three teams sc lost to are a combined 26-10. Secondly, sc hasn't lost since early October. 6 in a row, and four over ranked teams when we played em. Overated sec? Only one power four conference has a winning record against ooc p4 opponents. I'll let you guess which one that is

@@HunterCole It actually is the same thing. If you are good enough to be in now, you are good enough after losing an additional game that others don’t have to play. If your logic prevails, then conference title games are not worth playing. And BTW, South Carolina is a good team.

@@antwandemarcusfuster I think the real point is the ACC should be punished. They’re not as good as any other conference. I agree teams like Notre Dame shouldn’t get in or should have to be in a conference. You can’t get an easy cake walk into the playoffs by being in a weak conference.

I love how they only talk about the Big 10, SEC and ACC championship - where Clemson can potentially get in with 4 loses or Clemson get in with 3 loses but if you're in the Big 12 championship and lose there's no hope to make the playoffs even though you would have 3 loses. The committee is so biased towards SEC and Big 10 it's annoying

Why should we not punish Georgia and Penn State for losing the extra game while punishing SMU if they lose the extra game? In the future there will be no conference championship games + 16-24 team playoff.

@@Targetlocked86em doesn’t change the fact they are being punished for playing an extra game. BTW, the committee already set a precedent by not punishing TCU a few years ago. They lost to KSU and still got in. And, despite being humiliated by Georgia, they did beat Michigan.

After watching Georgia struggle to beat GT in 8 overtimes, I am not sure they are in if they lose convincingly to Texas. Funny how a 2 point conversion in one of the 6 overtimes is the difference between automatically in and being on the bubble.

Georgia has played 5 teams either in the playoffs or on the fringe of being in the playoffs. Playing 5 out of 12 best teams in the country and having a winning record is insane. And. SMU is in no matter what imo. But I still think they beat Clemson so 🤷🏾‍♂️

I think a losing top 11/12 team playing in Championship week should be susceptible to punishment in terms of seeding (in blowouts) but not in terms of making the playoff. Whether SMU loses by 1 or 51, I think SMU should get into the playoff over Alabama and South Carolina.

If SMU loses to Clemson because of how week their Strength of Schedule is they should be knocked out. Their best win would have been against 8 - 4 Louisville Team (Currently not Ranked in Top 25) Only Team they played in Top 25 was BYU and they lost that game.. So schedule some other than 3 - 10 Nevada or FCS Houston Christian.. Just win this weekend

Seems like a pretty easy problem they should base the playoffs on the regular season….. championship games should be excluded from the playoff decision. That way every team is compared based on their performance on the same number of games

Georgia beat Texas, but Texas had a better record so they ranked higher. Ohio State beat Indiana, but has more losses than Indiana and still ranker higher than Indiana Same scenario, same record, different rankings...Bias?

The top 2 team conference playoffs are counter productive. The big 10 has an undisputed champion as it stands. If Penn state wins the best team is in question. Indiana got the shaft. They didn't get to play either of the 2 teams in it. They should schedule all the teams( next week) and just pick the 1st place champion.

if you compare all the numbers on Indiana and Penn State this season you will find there is not one penny's worth of difference between the two. Penn State is playing Oregon because of a formula the Big Ten devised that says nothing about which is the better team. IU lost to OSU on the road, Penn State lost at home. The total points of the five common opponents is IU +100 PS +114. Without Ohio State in that mix, it's IU +123 PS +121. Of the five games IU played 2 on the road, Penn State one. Both are 11-1. I see NO edge either way until Saturday's game. If Penn State loses, Indiana should be ranked higher. Just my opinion but I think the numbers back it up 100%.

@ I have several bones to pick with rankings, just feel like an over represented SEC is a pretty common stance. Giving the SEC 40-50% of the representation in a playoff field is just bad.

@ I would say so, even while it may not be statistically represented in the data. I get pedigree programs are good, they can be good next year too. If they win their conference or are runners up, let them in. I want the most deserving teams, the ones who perform best in their conferences. Also, thanks for taking the time to engage.

I keep hearing this big team that big team should be in there even if they win )loss shows worse than what the committee has put into effect. They say BOUSE STATE should have to fight for the spot but they have shown over the year they can play against the big colleges and do a great job. Boise State gas every right to be where the commuter has placed them in the number 4 slot. They went 11--1 and the team that beat them is your number 1 seated team. Oregon and they only won by 3 points. Ask Oklahoma what it's like to play Bouse State. Don't knock the smaller universities down because we might be in the country. BOISE STATE HAS A WINING TEAM SND WE ARE GOING TO SHOUT IT

As an Alabama fan, do I think we’re the best team in the country? Absolutely not, and we have been inconsistent HOWEVER even with that being said, a 9-3 Inconsistent Alabama team still has every right to be in the playoffs with the strength of our schedule, and with a few of our good wins, we still have a better resume over a handful of these top 10s. A 2 loss Miami who hasn’t had any good wins, won’t get in. Alabama is still WAY better than Miami, notre dame, Boise state , asu, and they’ll prove it when we blow one of them teams out on the big stage. But with that being said, if Clemson wins their conference championship then Alabama and both South Carolina deserves to be in over these cupcake teams no matter what you say about their “better records”
