As an Oregon fan I would be so pissed if we went undefeated and beat Ohio St. twice just to see Georgia after the bye while Ohio St gets Boise and ASU.

First, as a Texas fan, I'm glad A&M has traded in used-car salesman Fisher for football coach Elko. Regarding Arch, he started against Miss State and went 26/31 for 325yds, 2TDs & no INTs. Now, Miss State is Miss State, but that's still pretty solid. I keep hearing about how Texas hasn't beaten anybody. If that's true, three of the top ranked teams in the SEC have lost to nobodies. Alabama 3 Oklahoma 24 Texas 34 Oklahoma 3 Alabama 35 Vanderbilt 40 Texas 27 Vanderbilt 24 Ole Miss 17 Florida 24 Texas 49 Florida 17 Ole Miss 17 Kentucky 20 Texas 31 Kentucky 14 Tennessee 14 Arkansas 19 Texas 20 Arkansas 10 And one barely escaped Georgia 13 Kentucky 12 Texas 31 Kentucky 14

A week ago we were all told SC won’t get in because they have three losses. Then Bama, MS and A&M all went down. Now we are told we won’t get in according to some because we lost head to head vs AL and MS and they have three losses. It’s nonsense. You are saying it’s less of a disqualifier to get your ass kicked by a bad OK team late in November than to lose on the road at Bama by 2 points? That is dumbassery. Losing a close road game by 2 to a top team is not the same as getting smoked in late November by one of the worst teams in the SEC

Doesn't make sense to me SMU/Indiana is higher to then Boise State. I understand they looked terrible against Wyoming however we call that recency bias but you gotta look at the full schedule. I don't understand how Indiana strength of scheduled is in 40's suddenly after playing Ohio State. Boise played #1 Oregon and lost by 3 points. Indiana played #2 Ohio state and lost by 20 points+. So i'm confused by your rankings.

No doubt that NIU loss was ugly, but the eye test is undeniable. Notre Dame has been playing excellent ball since then which can’t be written off by stating their competition has been mediocre. NIU was a case of an immature team coming off a high, but they’ve definitely matured since. They could hang with any of the top teams right now and I’m saying that as a Michigan man. Oregon and Ohio might be the front runners by a hair but honestly this season could be anyone’s to take home.

@@timothyhawkins5825 what “eye test” Congratulations Notre Dame you dominated a 9-0 Army team who’s steeped schedule was in the 130’s They haven’t done anything that says they are one of the best 12 teams…beating A&M week 1 isn’t not impressive but A&M could end a 4 loss squad and that would be their best win.

To ALL "The Ohio State:" Fans and B1G Why do you call your school "The" as if you are stellar in anything, including sports or academics? You haven't won in sports since 2014 and your academics is sub-par according to Forbes (see below). You're not top 20 in anything other than spending the most money all athletes to play for you. So, please remind us all why you are "The Ohio State".? The Ohio State University is ranked #86 in Forbes' 2025 list of top colleges. It also ranks: #32 in public colleges, #63 in research universities, and #11 in the Midwest.
@jonathanwillis11433 күн бұрын
If you hate the OSU why do you even care. Also, I don't know what stats you look at. The Ohio State University has improved in rankings of public and national universities and has been in the top 50 for years. Ohio State ranked 15th among public universities and 41st in the nation in the new Best Colleges rankings for 2025. It’s an improvement of two spots in both categories. “Ohio State is one of the best public universities in the nation with outstanding students, faculty and staff who are passionate about solving the world's most pressing challenges," President Walter "Ted" Carter Jr. said. "The university just enrolled a record-setting first-year class, we have a world-class academic medical center that continues to excel at patient care and life-changing research, and a worldwide network of nearly 620,000 alumni." In addition to the overall rankings, the university continues to be rated among the top 10 in a variety of academic programs. The College of Nursing’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is ranked first among public universities and 4th nationally. In the Fisher College of Business, the undergraduate business program ranked 7th among public universities and 14th nationally. The undergraduate engineering degree program in the College of Engineering was ranked 12th among publics and 20th in the nation, its highest ranking to date. Ohio State’s program is ranked in the category of universities offering an engineering doctorate.

I'm probably on an island on this one, but why can't we have conference playoffs, followed by an old-school bowl season, then an AP-crowned national champion? The conferences make additional revenue from a 4-team playoff; the bowl games would draw more viewers and attendees (more money) as they would impact final rankings and, ultimately, the national champion. I dunno. The CFP just seems unsustainable: I think the Big Ten and SEC will soon peel off from FBS - taking the CFP with them.
@Educated2Extinction3 күн бұрын
First, an old-school bowl season has about 10 bowls, where you have to actually be good, not 34 where anything of 0.500 or better gets you in. Why even play, when AP can just tell us who the best teams are?
@william72862 күн бұрын
@@Educated2Extinction Pretty sure that the market will take care of the number of bowl games available. If the AP is so irrelevant, why do we live and die based on AP rankings for the regular season? Given the discrepancy of SOS - even within conferences, how can we measure the best 4 or 12 teams at year's end, anyway?
