Back to School! I’m a stresso expresso and it’s only the first week. Hoped everyone had a great first week and or last few days of summer :)

Does UIC offer bunk beds or are they all lower beds? Which dorm is the one you moved into?

This first question has many different answers to it lol A lot of rooms has either low beds or high beds. Better quality beds would be located in the new and newer resident halls like the ARC and JST. If you and your roommate agrees to bunking beds together (if you're not in a single) , you may totally do so! If you want your bed lofted, you could rent one through bedloft.com and they will be sent directly to your room. For my sophomore year, I moved into TBH and I had a low bed. I did not like low beds to begin with, so I had previously purchased bed stands, they worked like a charm! :)

UIC has a very diverse selection of students and if i remember correctly its like 11% Asian?

I forgot to mentioned that it is okay to be nervous when coming in to a new environment! I know I was when my family and I were only a few mins away from campus. Don't let it get to you, you'll be fine :)!

hii. i’m not from up north but i’m looking into this school. is the weather actually as cold and windy as they say it is. i’m kinda nervous about it😭

Yes it is, bring heavy coats and scarfs and hats, but the snow is beautiful and they decorate the city so it is beautiful! All the seasons here are beautiful but the weather can be a little bipolar.

The weather is crazy cold over here! Yes, like someone mentioned before do bring your winter clothes! I remember the countless of times where I had to leave to run errands and I wouldn't be layered up properly because I did not bring enough warm clothes :(

This dorm is located a bit farther and it is only for sophomore status or higher! :)

Hey glad you want to be a part of UIC! and I am not completely sure so what I would do, is take a look at the schools campus housing site to see more information on that :)

Why did you choose UIC?

UIC was my top choice, and I am still to this day very glad that I am getting my education there. It offered many programs and resources for their students (including me) to achieve their educational goal. The school also showed more promising signs than any other university that I applied too!

Like any other public place, we all have to be cautious of our surroundings at any time. But from my experience, I did not have a problem regarding of my safety at the university.

divya tiwari yes, the diversity at UIC is very strong so you can expect some indians there
