i’m gonna be a film major in two weeks and i feel like i don’t know anyone in my major😭 did u feel like people already knew each other at orientation or was everyone introducing themselves and like sitting with random people?

at my tisch orientation i think everyone was introducing themselves/meeting each other for the first time!! even in my film classes too i only knew a few people at first if any, and they were from who i had met during welcome week :) you’ll be fine! ❤️

Biggest takeaway for film would be to put effort not only into listening & learning when it comes to classroom content, but also try and learn from the ideas and work of your classmates, as well as nurturing creative relationships with everyone!

I’d research stats online, but I’m sure your odds are great!! Nyu is such a global school- they literally call themselves “a university without walls”

there was a virtual club fair last year so you really had to reach out on your own to the clubs- but hopefully you have some in person events which makes it easier to go to meetings and sign up :) most clubs also have social media too
