His experience in his Italian course in college was literally exactly like Spanish in high school. It was at the same level and the Spanish teachers were horrible. After hearing about it I realize how terrible our Spanish course really was as it was the same as a college class.

learning languages in a classroom makes no sense. You sit there with 20 people each sounding out "this is a pen" slowly for an hour a day and memorize a fraction of the stuff you could if you just opened a book or even watched an episode of a foreign show and wrote down the vocab. A way better and far easier way is to just listen to content for native speakers and memorize 5-10 vocabulary/phrases on flash cards a day, and it all just kinda works itself out the more you use the language and iron out mistakes.

It's bad when you get to that point in your life when you think "nah everyone else was right, I do regret not going to college" You've got 40 years at least to work, trust me the few years you'll spend in college even if you don't end up using your degree will not be a waste. At least get some kind of degree, business or accounting or some shit that you can always fall back on. It's a whole lot easier to go to college after high school than when you're 27 with your own place and bills and shit. Also have to mention that this probably doesn't suit Americans, more so the countries that don't require selling your soul and left ball to get in

I basically pulled a Woody x10 by fucking off and skipping my junior and senior years. Accidentally got drug testing implemented the following year at my private school, so I dropped out and knew I'd do one of two things in the public school I had to go to. Either I'd absolutely smush some kid skull over not taking any BS, or I'd be the 3rd white kid stabbed at the school in the attempt in the calendar year. So noped out of that. My dad had a buddy who taught at the alternative school, basically any kids that had been kicked from their school for gang activity, drug dealing/use, flunked out over partying, or fighting went here. Ended up finagling my way out of 2 years of that where I basically sat in a classroom for 2 hours a day, 3 days a week, for 6 months and did nothing but what I could get past the computer firewall. Yahoo Answers. 2 8 hour days (plus basically a 3rd full day for any special needs which basically everyone applied for) to take all the final exams, just showed up blind. Passed out a stack and said just to keep them all and to knock them out over the days individually rather than handing each one out at a time. When I got up like an hour before lunch people thought I was retarded and the teachers looked at me like "did you not understand you idiot?" But then when I said I was done, with all of them, they looked at me like I was Jesus Christ come back. Scored in the top 1% of the top 1% of scores in the test's history apart from Math according to my dad's buddy, which I am clinically retarded in. There I only scored IN the top 1%. That was when I realized that public school is an absolute joke and utter gongshow. I can't even imagine how soul crushing school must be if you are someone who gets something out of an academic environment and are forced to go to public schools in this country. Saved 6 months straight up and did about a third of the "work (time)" I would have in regular school doing this. Oh, and the languages bit is true. Every school has that one screw off language course, and ours was Latin. Beyond easy to cheat in. We got so into cheating in this class, by the time the year was over we weren't even cheating individually anymore, it was a class wide operation. We were employing like 4 different strategies based on what he was doing. Nerds that actually learned Latin sat next to his desk so that everyone else could move freely and move to Plan B, C, or D in case Plan A didn't happen, which was him sitting there with the entire answer key either out or magneted to his cabinet so that the person behind his desk just copied it and starting disseminating it to the whole class. Then it was the traditional "copy the kid next to you". How about "your allowed an index card, copy the entire dictionary across 6 rows of desks and pass on your bit to your neighbor who covers the next bit" gag? I think my favorite was the silliness of opening your textbook on the floor, copying it, then sending pushing it with your foot to the person in front of you. It was nice to hear my brother coming home a few years later and saying how they cheat in the class not knowing someone had been passing our traditions.
