@@SockieTheSockPuppet "If I could keep slavery and preserve the Union, I would" - Lincoln. Stop this revisionist history bullshit. Lincoln waited 2 years into the war to make the Emancipation, which ONLY free slaves in "States in Open Rebellion". Lincoln let the Border States in the Union to keep their slaves. Does that sound like Lincoln gave a shit about the slaves? Nope. It was strategy. I'm a Republican, but you're a god damn fool if you believe Lincoln cared about blacks. He actively tried to export them after the war. Mexico turned him down, then he tried the Caribbean to establish a colony and again, rejected. He was going to use Navy ships to send them back to Africa and then he was killed. He freed the slaves because he needed them to fight in the war. Stop the propaganda bullshit. Republicans shouldn't revise history the way Leftists change "science".

Same strategy actually: divide and pander. Culture shifted, meaning pandering to white supremacy wasn't the winning horse to back, so now they hopped on "civil rights" while hijacking the movements to promote division instead of unity.

Haven’t you heard? The parties apparently just agreed to swap labels. Well, the Democrats agreed. The Republicans just woke up wearing Democrat suits, unsure how they got on the other side of the aisle and where the last three days had gone. That’s the approved narrative anyway.

The mainstream media has always bowed to the Democrats. The CIA and other Federal Agencies have always been under the control of the Democrat Party. LBJ used the CIA to ensure that JFK, MLK, and Malcolm X were no longer a threat to their control. Those moments put us on the path to the current state our country is in. The tried to kill Reagan for calling them out. And they are doing everything they can to stop President Trump from getting in their way. Notice how none of them are being held for their crimes, but everyone against them is being politically persecuted. To make matters worse, the Democrats control social media to further their propaganda and brain washing. The more we fight against them, the worse it will get. It may well get to the point where we will have another civil war. But that just might destroy our country. We can only hope that we can retake our government and dispose of the socialist and marxist traitors.

I'm from Mexico, and the day I became a naturalized U.S. citizen I registered to vote as a Democrat. One day in late 2015, or so, one of my friends gave me a Bernie Sanders button and said that I should support him because he was gonna make college free-it was then I realized I was finally going to be able to cast my first vote, and I was intrigued but decided not to think about it-I was a registered Democrat after all. "Why think critically when other voters can do the thinking for me? I'll just vote for the Democrat nominee." When I heard who the final candidates were I was shocked! Like: "ain't no way people could be so dumb as to choose these two to represent their party!" I was scared and decided not to vote at all-I mean: "citizens who have been in it longer than I have would surely choose more wisely than I. I mean, they did elect Obama twice in a row," I thought. Fast forward to the week before the 2016 election, I still couldn't understand why Bernie Sanders wasn't the nominee for the Democratic party! I also didn't understand why a racist was the top nominee of the republican party!! I wanted to understand more, so I decided to binge watch every news clip and video essay I could find on KZbin to learn more about the behind the scenes of politics, and I entered a rabbit hole of truth that I couldn't believe! I had been brain washed by leftists all my life! For starters, Trump didn't say Mexicans were rapists-he was talking about the MS 13 gang members, and other crimminals crossing the border illegally! The comment about Hollywood rich men grabbing women who immediately become compliant was technically not an exaggeration, and even if it was politically incorrect to say it, Trump said that 11 years prior, when he was openly a Democrat. I mean, I could go on and on, but the main takeaway was that everything the news media was reporting about Trump was a lie! And I felt betrayed! Finally, I decided to watch the presidential debate...and man, oh man-I don't think I need to make this story any longer than it already is. By the time election day came, I voted for Trump, and I haven't looked back! #POTUSTRUMP2024! #BUILDTHEWALL! #MAGA!

When talking about politics with co-workers and friends, I try to follow up every conversation with the same words - "Do your own research." If you don't do your own homework you'll be misled or misinformed depending on what the group you hear from wants. Politicians and some institutions will lie to your face. Read, read, read - having more information will allow you to make a more informed decision about the policies and politics which you're hearing about. Look for patterns - have you seen or read something like what you're hearing on TV today? They say history repeats itself and as you learn more for yourself about history you'll begin to see more and more things coming back around. As Thomas Jefferson said "A well-informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny".

When I was 19, I was in the Navy, and I found out that I had a problem with my knees, Patella Femoral Syndrome. Basically, every time I took a step on steel ladderwells or decks, it was degrading my knees, and if I stayed in, I would be crippled by 25. There were two essential camps that emerged on hearing the news: The people who treated me like my knees were made of glass, and the ones who thought I was malingering. Ironically, I liked the people who thought I was overplaying it. Why? Because inherently, they believed me to be MORE capable, not less. How does this relate? The DP has gotten to a point where they think all these people are made of glass and need constant, unending "empowerment", but did you notice that they only really mean ONE kid of empowerment? It's literal power almost all the time, without the work that goes into success. The DP sells this sort of unending victim status, now expanding it to a ton of groups. Yes, racism does exist, but it isn't defeated by constant reinforcement. It's defeated by getting past it and moving on with our regular lives.

@Foxtai1987, the political party flip theory is debunked. The parties greatly evolved after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but there are only 2 recorded 'flips' from Republican to Democrat. People like to point at Berry Goldwater as a prime example for his opposition to the Civil rights act as proof that the Republican party was anti-civil rights, but he and his supporters were opposed by a majority of the Republican Party. But it's quite ignored that he supported all of the Civil Rights Acts previous to the CRA64 and his only contention was Act II and VII. Goldwater was a friend to the Democratic Party, where most of his opposition was to LBJ, he was not strongly Republican. This made him a more favorable vote for the Democrats if a Republican were to be elected. So that is where the Southern Strategy comes from. He wasn't strongly Republican, but he remained a Republican. The "actual switch of the parties" was on federal government's role. Democrats began realizing what a strong central government could do for voting power, and Republicans realized that it was a terrible idea it was. President Eisenhower expanded upon The New Deal, and headed the creation of the Interstate Highway System. Quite a large government Republican. He is the President that started the Civil Rights for the Military by declaring an end to segregation in the military. By the end of his presidency, Ike would warn of the problems of the big government he helped create. He coined the term Military Industrial Complex in his Farewell Address. Many suspect to this day that the CIA conspired to assassinate JFK who swore to dismantle it. Many believe the CIA was what got the US involved in the Vietnam War. It was quite obvious that there was political evolution going on in the Republican Party at this time. They were re-evaluating their tact in going about what the federal government's role should be. This was the mark of the start for small government Republicans. Berry Goldwater's Southern Solution was rejected outright by the majority of Republicans, even though he secured the nomination. The two Republicans who switched to Democrat in the 1960's? Hillary Clinton and Jay Rockefeller. To this day Republicans complain about Rino Republicans, those who are Republican In Name Only. Those would be all the Democrats who fled its party after the CRA64 and still to this day vote in favor of Democrat legislation.

My father taught history at a community college in Georgia for twenty years. For most students, they entered his class in order to complete a required class that had nothing to with their major. They expected to be bored for the term, take a C, and never have to study History again. My dad had a routine for the first day of class of his Intro classes. He would arrive late, look flustered, and search through random piles of paper looking for something. "Sorry everyone. First days are always rough. Give me a moment. I seemed to have misplaced my notes. They are here somewhere." *shuffle shuffle* "How about I just start until I find them. Um... let's see, what was I going to start with. Um ... um ... oh, I remember ... it was about the main street that runs through the projects ... the "black" part of town... what is it called...." There are a lot of disgruntled noises as my dad was very Irish white. Finally, someone answers, "Forest." My dad looks up with a happy surprised look before going back to his paper, "That's right! Forest! Wait ... no ... yes? Isn't it misspelled? I can't remember. Where are my notes? Yes, I do remember, the spelling is weird." Someone always pipes up that Forest has /two/ Rs, Forrest. "That's right! Two Rs. You would think when they renamed it back in the 1980s, they could at least spell it right. Wait ... now I remember, they did spell it right. They named it after someone ... um ... um ... oh yeah! Nathan Bedford Forrest. That's why it has two Rs. Hmmm ... I seem to have forgotten why..." No one ever knows, or they decides not to answer. "Oh ... that's right! He was a famous Confederate General ... and he was a founding member of a little club. I believe it was called the Ku Klux Klan." My dad would pause, "Huh ... that's ironic. You would think someone in the government would see the implications." He would stop acting ditzy and look hard at the audience, who is now very much paying attention, and probably angry. "This is why one needs to know history. Dates and battles are trivia. Motivations, Causes, these things affect us even today. If you do not know your history, someone who does not have your best interest at heart, will rewrite it for you. Who wants to learn more?" His classes for the next term filled up within minutes after opening.

@@jacksmith-vs4ct classical liberals, and they were not as hard on ending slavery as conservative Christian abolitionists were, they were more willing to compromise, but they were the moderate group that was able to garner some popular support. And yeah both parties have had times in history where they went "right" and "left" in those silly french political ideals, but if you consider yourself a classical liberal, the largest party today where you are allowed a voice is the republican party, though they are still moderate and lack the gumption to make the serious political changes needed in this country, they may be pulled again by people with a better vision for the future once more, and then fall back into negotiating away the American spirit with their uniparty allies after the hard victories are won. Abortion is as evil an institution as slavery, and it is harmful yet again more to the black community because of it's racist roots, and it must be abolished if our country is to come out of this moment for the better. All other avenues are either the end of the country or it being a greater evil in it's end than it's beginning, I get you may not track with me on this, that is understandable, it is a hard pill to swallow but reason and morality point you to it. It is the poison that has been tearing our nation asunder, there are other battles to fight but just as in those days the most basic premise of our nation was not being fulfilled by allowing the enslavement of blacks, allowing the destruction of life throughout the land is a greater evil still, the promise of liberty can never be had without life.

What’s funny is after black men got the right to vote in 1870 the way of the 15th amendment all of the women who had a raise hell and wanted rights for women and black men were crapped on because they didn’t have the right to vote for another 50 years. Frederick Douglass said. “It’s not yet time for women “ WHAT??? Men can be dirt bags 😂 who in the hell does he think gave birth to him? I have always gotten tickled with the fact that women over thousands of years have been second class or third class human beings, and yet they giving birth at every monarch that ever existed!!! Pretty despicable, and only with the Cherokee native Indians did the matriarch have the say. It’s just an interesting fact and historical but they did..

@@christycable9021 No miss thing I've done my research. Unlike the majority of the MAGA cult I believe in facts and the truth and unlike the majority of the cult I'm not averse to using a search engine to help me find the truth. Your fight isn't with me your fight is with the truth; the truth is your enemy. The truth is in the palm of your hands yet you rather spout nonsense than seek the truth. Prager U has a conservative political agenda and that would be fine if the agenda didn't consist of releasing these videos that omit very important facts, tell half truths and distort history to fit a false narrative, a narrative intended to mislead by appealing to emotions rather than logical reasoning and facts. Here's an important fact that the presenter fails to mention about the Democratic Party that supposedly defended all those awful things. The Democratic Party was the reason Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860, yes Democrats got the first Republican president of the country elected. How you ask? Let me explain, by 1860 the Democratic party was no longer a unified political party, it was in chaos. Why? I'm glad you asked, The party was ideologically split and this would eventually see the Democratic party be torn apart by the end of 1860. What were they split on? Great question and the answer is might shock you. They were split on SLAVERY. The Northern Democrats were against slavery and also believed that all the states should remain in the union. This was contrary to what their counterparts the Southern Democrats envisioned. The Southern Democrats believed that slavery should be expanded and that the southern states had a right to govern themselves. These competing ideological differences couldn't be reconciled so the Northern Democrats ditched the party. The Southern Democrats refused to accept Stephen Douglas as the party's nominee because he refused to adopt a PRO SLAVERY platform, instead they nominated their own candidate John Breckinridge, a supporter of SLAVERY and of states rights to self govern (no Union). Long story short, the chaos split the party three ways and the Southern Democrats would continue to fight for expanded slavery while the Northern Democrats fought alongside the union and would oppose the confederacy. The presenter never mentioned that the Democratic Party split or why did she? No she didn't, had she her entire false narrative would've fallen apart quicker than it took for her to ramble off all those lies and half truths. #Facts

In 1964, Democratic president Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. In the 1964 election, Republican candidate Barry Goldwater publicly opposed the new law, arguing that it expanded the power of the federal government to a dangerous level. It was this argument that led to a final, decisive switch. Black voters, who had historically been loyal to the Republican Party because of the 1866 Civil Rights Act, had already been switching to the Democratic Party. However, upon hearing Goldwater’s argument against the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the majority of Black voters left the Republican Party in favor of the Democrats. They saw the Democratic Party as advocates for equality and justice, while the Republicans were too concerned with keeping the status quo in America. By the 1980s, white southern Democrats had become Republicans, and the majority of the south was now Republican. The Republican Party now is solidly conservative while the Democratic Party is the liberal one. Look at the source The Prager University Foundation, known as PragerU, is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit advocacy group and media organization that creates content promoting conservative viewpoints on various political, economic, and sociological topics. It was co-founded in 2009 by Allen Estrin and talk show host Dennis Prager. Despite the name including the word "university", it is not an academic institution and does not confer degrees. PragerU's videos contain misleading or factually incorrect information promoting climate change denial.[1][2] Historians and political scientists have also criticized PragerU's videos for containing misleading or inaccurate claims about topics such as slavery and racism in the United States, immigration, and the history of fascism. PragerU has been also accused of promoting anti-LGBT politics.
