Just to be clear.. If you have EDS and it makes you physically incapable of working than apply for disability, SSDI or SSI (last two things involve social security). No excuse at all for mooching off your kid. This woman is using a real medical problem to her advantage. Sure she may actually have it, but then that is her responsibility to deal with it. Not the daughters.. Just look at the daughter. She definitely looks exhausted.

Even when I was in a wheelchair, having 5 to 8 non epileptic seizures a day, I still did not ever make my parents for anything close to this. And I have been dealing with the medical issues since 16!! Still a child and not acting as childish as this woman. She gives people with disabilities a bad name. Damn.

It's so hard for some people to face down their parents and the emotional manipulation makes that a lot harder because she makes that poor kid feel like she's a bad person for not letting mom do whatever she wants. Also using EDS like some kind of pass to be a horrible person is so so terrible. You can't always control what disability or mental illness you end up with but when you know you have something it is your responsibility to take proper care of it the best you can and it's no one elses fault if you aren't trying to do that.

I really don’t like that he reduced EDS to being a little “bendy” or “flexible”. EDS Is a serious connective tissue disorder and it affects every part of the body. In a lot of cases it can be extremely debilitating and prevents most people with EDS from working a “regular” full time job. I’m not saying that what this woman is doing to her daughter is right, it’s absolutely not, she’s taking advantage of her. But there is no need to reduce an entire group of disabled people to being a little too “bendy” or “flexible”. It doesn’t even scratch the surface of what living with EDS is like. (And that’s not even touching on the comorbidities often associated with EDS).

I want to say she should dump her in an retirement home or somewhere else until she get herself in order, but family bonds are that easy to break

yeah..her mom got an issue, and it aint cause of EDS lol I feel like as the daughter, it's sometimes hard to reject your mother and be aggressive to them, but i agree it needs to end. It's not fair to her to have to give up so much for her mother. She just seems like she is struggling.
