Question.. what kind of flag is that draped in front of the podium? 😖
@JDMorris81Ай бұрын
Was thinking the same thing. Not sure how much of a "Conservative" professor he really is.
@mariatorres9789Ай бұрын
@JDMorris81 He's not a conservative professor. He's just a professor that tries to get people to think, instead of being mindless led sheep.
@commentator198426 күн бұрын
It is a safety flag to protect him as he says things the students may not like to hear. He is careful never to say what he personally believes about anything. But the students can still get riled up by his saying, " Some people believe..."
@NoelFallstromАй бұрын
I was flabbergasted by the ending. Basically the students were arguing that he deserved the hate as retribution for wearing a MAGA hat. The rest didn't really matter. The professor naively thought the students mistakenly blamed the student for being rude and disrespectful, unaware that his biggest crime was placing that hat upon his head. The hat was more hateful than anything else according to his students. A sane professor can only do so much.

Why does this (utterly incorrect) college girl not get the fact that if the media blindly and deliberately lied about the incident the professor is going over, that they wouldn't be capable of lying about the propaganda she was spewing about "what the hat represents"?

When people make unqualifiable claims like “…campaign based on hate”, challenge them. They don’t know why they say it, they just repeat what they’ve heard.

Exactly. The vitriolic passion that was expressed about Kamala Harris was shocking. And the insistence that her assertions were all lies was baffling. What was the foundation for that response?

There's a comment from someone at 12:05 in the video. The woman states, "You can do that, but after a while, you gotta move. He's trying to go to the top." I wonder if she would say that same statement about people at BLM or Antifa rallies that block traffic, or get in people's faces on the sidewalks, and refuse to move.

Why is there a huge gay pride flag right up front of the class??
@R1sk1t-B1sk1tАй бұрын
There’s nothing really wrong with that if your intent is truly to be all inclusive, even if not in a woke way. Gay people are t going to go extinct, they’re here to stay. When you take a non bigoted anti woke approach, you don’t want to give off the impression that there is really any exclusion occurring. Plus most of these kids are already indoctrinated, you have to find a middle ground on which to converse. You however sound bigoted and only prove them right, am I wrong?

@christopherwilson7004Ай бұрын
Why does that matter?
@agentorange3774Ай бұрын
@@christopherwilson7004 Well, for one it’s a classroom not a club. IDPOL is a cancer and emblematic of a dying society and there’s zero reasons why anyone (especially someone in a position of authority/power) should have that as a topic of discussion in their professional setting. Very few people care about what people do in their personal lives….This isn’t personal, it’s very public.

I wish the Professor would’ve asked the students to show examples of Trump racist policies. There’s always going to be people with bad ideas that can be destroyed only with love and rational discussion. Political platforms/Governments should be judged on policy. Show me the racist policies/laws that were proposed! There aren’t any, the American people wouldn’t stand for it! God Bless you all.🥰

I'm so glad to know there are some professors out there that aren't indoctrination g students. Until I found his videos, I had lost faith in colleges and universities, but he has restored some of it . When I was a kid my parents worried whether or not I would go to college. Nowadays I feel like you got to worry about what's going to happen if your kid does choose to go to college! I hope my daughter chooses one where there's more professors like him.

I have listened to this professor before and I really like his talks. But one thing I just noticed is the gay pride flag in the classroom. The only flag that should be in that room is the American flag. I do not understand the point of it. I have lost respect for him, stop trying to fit in or force your beliefs on others.
@MarkOakleyComicsАй бұрын
I was wondering that too, but given his style of teaching, I wouldn't be surprised if he was using it as part of an object lesson. "Now.., you've been sitting here for an hour, looking at this flag. What does it mean to you? What does it mean when you see it draped across a mantle of authority like this?" -Something like that. That's what I'd do, anyway. He certainly doesn't seem foolish enough to not understand how crazy a flag like that is.

@bonniejeanmackay1133Ай бұрын
He isn't beating around any bushes. He is showing the students images and inviting them to expand their perspectives, and resist the common propensity to swallow and cling exclusively to a single narrative. He is guiding them to trust their OWN impressions, and then to question their own impressions, and to be open to hear and ponder alternate points of view.

Meh. Professor didn't offer any pushback against this false notion that MAGA is a movement of hate. To these NPC's, this kid in a MAGA hat is akin to a klansman in a white hood. So arguing that a klansman in a white hood WASN'T being racist is preposterous to them. You have to attack the stupidity from the root cause, otherwise you're just validating the stupidity. These NPC's likely walked away from this feeling even more validated in their preconceived stupidity, so I give professor a 0/10 for this.
@DocR16Ай бұрын
Its a hard line to walk in education. Especially in university. If he were to push back on the lies said about MAGA, there's a minute chance one of those spoilt brats parents are huge donors to the university. All they have to do is call daddy or mommy, parents call the Dean and threaten to pull money, and suddenly the professor is out of a job

I like this professor and have watched him before. I like how he has the students think about what they hear and see and not just accept it as shown in the media. He also didn’t make a big deal about what the girl said and let her have her own opinion. He asked everyone to think about what the outcome may have been with if a different hat was worn. I wish more professors would teach students how to think for themselves and get the facts before jumping to a conclusion.

@agm5424Ай бұрын
The thing about the hat is that it is a symbol that one group of people made to symbolize a specific set of values, then an entirely different group decided that it represented an entirely different set of values and the majority of the public blindly believe the latter group instead of going by what the former, the ones who created the symbol in the first place, says it represents.
