I first saw this version 8 months ago (made a comment, too) and just wanted to repeat it; this is the best version I've ever heard! This lamento is my favourite, and I seek it out in all mediums, static and alive. Kiehr has an amazing version, but this one ... this one just stuns me every time. And as amazing as Hana is, I'd have to sing the praises of the Cora here, simply sublime. My father was from Praha (nee Kralupi), and deep inside me there's a twinkle of wanting to pursue my past and passion. That's what this song is about for me, stuck in Australia.

People singing in masks hm...Monteverdi is turning over in his grave
@arlettineharpy864 жыл бұрын
But with masks, why? :(
@mwnyc39764 жыл бұрын
Why? 1) Because the moisture in singers' breath can transmit viruses much farther than when people are merely speaking, and a mask keeps the breath from traveling as far. 2) Because, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, it is currently illegal in the Czech Republic for groups of people, even small ones, to gather indoors without face masks.
@foryou-ft8vf4 жыл бұрын
@@mwnyc3976 The real danger is in wearing the mask and MANY doctors who are very well awarded will tell you this... look it up, you can find it everywhere! It has not yet been established concurrently that wearing a mask does not instead INCREASE many harmful results increasing your risk to harm much higher than you may have had to contract Covid.
@foryou-ft8vf4 жыл бұрын
@Simon Lomberg Yes, thank you, I agree the mask wearing is BS... more outspoken doctors than ever in the last four months :)
@foryou-ft8vf4 жыл бұрын
@Simon Lomberg Sorry I misunderstood but I will NOT "stop talking!" Just do a search yourself, I am NOT going to spoon feed you... go to KZbin and search. There are many opinions and studies done. And even when wearing a mask there are so many inconsistencies and lack of good procedure by almost everyone... people wearing the same rag on their face for weeks and that fell on the ground... yes, that is very healthy.
@foryou-ft8vf4 жыл бұрын
@Simon Lomberg Wow, you seem to know it all! I must be talking to an expert and a scientist. Still "scientific data" can change with time as any scientist will tell you... Scientific data is NOT like a mathematical absolute. New discoveries and evidences can and are found, and so too are we dealing with people who can and do make mistakes. You do take a lot for granted though about who I am and what I "feel" etc. But that is not a surprise to me. By the way, just because something is posted to KZbin does NOT mean there is no evidence to back it up, that's just silliness, you silly one you.

singing with face masks is just ridiculous
@namenowoneman3 жыл бұрын
Why to make a video of the musicians performing if they are wearing masks, especially if some of the masks look like underwear. It looks like a bad playback, some people holding notes move rhythmically and act like if they are performing ... Rather important to be able to see the mouth of the singer...Otherwise it has a bad effect on the illusion of a performance video... I could put a mask and act ...
@claudiodelvecchio91484 жыл бұрын
Excellent performance, but I had to put a "dislike" for the masks, ridiculous, insane e totally unusefull in this situation, because it is evident that there is distance enough between the artists.

Such a beautiful version! Pity it was all muffled by the horrid face masks.
@foryou-ft8vf4 жыл бұрын
Seriously? Take off the masks and social distance but SING and PERFORM without them. The sound has to be distorted and not being able to see the beauty of the face of EVERYONE ruins it. The visual is VERY important to the whole performance and it is spoiled here, why not just put a bag over your head. Why do you need a mask when there is no one in the room who is less then ten feet away. Where is the real practical without inclination "science" for this?!
