I think an elseworlds Joker origin in the style of Killing Joke and The Man Who Laughs could be amazing, but I also think it would've been a solution to fixing Leto's Joker. We've only seen 10 minutes of him, so people who think that it's too late are insane. Such a great actor. And the first, to my knowledge, that can really sing. Let's hope we get a more traditional Joker next time we see Leto.

The character of Dan Turpin from Superman: The Animated Series which I watched everyday after coming home from school was based of Jack Kirby. The late Joseph Bologna who voiced Dan Turpin was great and the storyline leading up to Darkseid invading earth was a great turning point to the series. It caught me of guard what happened to Dan Turpin, the eulogy took place felt as if it was for Jack Kirby. Another highlight was the original broadcast version of that scene featured his Marvel collaborators, but Warner Bros. caught the reference and was later redraw in later broadcasts and home video releases which kind of felt unfair but I understand why they did it.

I'm totally up for Suicide Squad 2 as long as they keep it more grounded. They should also add in some characters to the team that are more expendable to give that shock factor that the Ostrander run had. I don't really see the point in having a Joker origin film, there really isn't enough to work with for a whole film. If Mad Love and GCS stay close to the animated series and the comic books then they should be great for diversifying the market, while also exploring how twisted the relationship is.

If there's one comicbook company that can get away with having multiple versions of their characters simultaneously across different mediums, it's DC Comics. Their characters are just so iconic, we're all used to seeing them with different eyes without getting confused. That is something I don't see anyone mentioning when discussing this topic.

I also remember another tribute they did for Jack Kirby which was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 version) when Donatello sees Jack Kirby's drawing and was very interested in his art. The story lead to Kirby found a magical stone that he used to draw his characters and it would bring it to life. That was another great tribute to the King.

Thanks for another great episode! The bottom line is the WB film division is run terribly! They keep chasing Marvel's vision to their detriment. Just take four characters - Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman - make individual movies of each character, in their own worlds, and develop them. They would make tons of money - no brainer!

"It only hurts you if the movies work against each other." This applies to simultaneous versions of a character when you're not a fan of everything and skip stuff, then get confused if you don't care to know the versions are different. It also applies if one version is clearly better and better liked than the other version and it's even worse if the version that's better liked is not the ongoing universe version. And, yes, there's SO MANY characters, why do different versions of the same character at the same time, unless the core series has a multiverse movie that sticks with the core versions?

In my honest opinion, there could never be enough Batman and Joker as long as whoever can make their own versions of the characters. My favorite Batman and Joker is Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. But, there might be a different version of those characters for someone else out there. Other than that, it doesn't matter to me.

Maybe having two different actors portraying the Joker is "confusing" to the average movie fan but personally i think it's great. I'm a comic book fan and a movie buff. I have friends who are not movie fans and their knowledge of film is embarrassing (to me ;). At the same time these friends don't understand how i can watch so many films in a month. I think it's great that DC is taking a chance, i really do. Marvel has a much more structured approach and i'm pretty sure they have the next decade planned out and that's fantastic. DC on the other hand is taking chances and i love it. They don't have a structured game plan and that makes it very interesting. Jared Leto playing the Joker and Leo DiCaprio (he's my dream casting for the Scorsese produced Joker film) playing the Joker in different time lines? i'm all in. i think it's bloody fantastic. As a comic book fan and a movie buff i love how WB is taking chances. It's every fans dream! I don't give a crap if the "average" movie fan finds it confusing. WB should be given massive credit for taking chances and not painting by numbers.

I've liked the movies that WB has put out but I'm sick of all the uncertainty. Changing directors and writers, delays, reshoots, and the way they're announcing movies and then changing their minds. Ugh. Just create a road map the way Marvel did and stick to it. Write according to it. I really didn't like how they went to Death of Superman right out of the gate. Seriously? We had one movie to get attached to the actor. I didn't feel it at all in BvS when he died. There was no connections made between the Trinity. (MARTHA: who calls their mom by their first name? UGH) Anyway, I wish they'd show us the individuals w/ nods to a bigger universe and then bring them together for a JL movie. Then introduce a proper Doomsday. And I love what Schnepp said in another ep of Mongul and the Black Mercy!! Do a Superman movie about that!!! "The Man Who Has Everything" would be a great story that would make us love Supes! Anyway. I think if the Joker/Harley movie is a combination of "Mad Love" and "Preludes and Knock Knock Jokes," it could be really good. Then you could examine the abusive aspects of their relationship and set Harley on the path to Sirens. As comics readers, we get why they broke up. Mainstream audiences wouldn't get why Joker and Harley split without seeing how toxic their relationship is, especially after how they characterized their relationship in Suicide Squad.

It's so easy to still have the same Joker and the same Batman. Just have the Scorsese Joker have no Tats and no knowledge of a Harley Quinn. And have a "origin story" for him but make it have a sort of twist where it leaves you wondering if he's telling the truth of his origin. In other words, have the story be from the Joker's twisted perception. And yes have Batman be in the origin, preferably at the end. When Joker has that one bad day.

Just give me a Batman movie with Affleck that focuses on the Red Hood storyline (since we saw Jason Todds Robin suit in BvS). Some sort of flashbacks showing Batman and Robin (opportunity to have a younger actor as Batman if they wanted), show Joker killing Robin which makes Batman go into retirement. Then the second half of the movie is in the current storyline after JL and have Jason back as Red Hood and the antagonist of the film due to him hating Batman for not killing Joker (which would have saved Jason from dying) have it focus on both of their ideologies. Since the focus on Robin, also opens the door to Dick Grayson if WB are still doing a Nightwing movie, also Tim Drake if they want to have an actual Robin in the DCEU/Justice League story.

Elseworld can be great but some people would rather see the continuation of a version and not just starting from scratch again.

I posted to Ashley and Amy six months before Wonder Woman came out that they need not worry about Wonder Woman and its good fortune came through, but I was Worried about Wonder Woman 2 & whether they would put Wonder Woman back in her place. Fortunately that is not the case because Patty Jenkins has made sure she has final cut on Wonder Woman 2, so they can't undercut her in her own movies as long as Jenkins is around(although the sequel is still isolated to the past). HOWEVER they can undercut popular Wonder Woman by making the non-sensical decision to make the world she leads less important by making two worlds & with the now favored & also nonsensical Flashpoint in Justice League 2, so they can replace or change the world so that Wonder Woman isn't no.1 anymore. As far as Harley Quinn, The men in charge of WB thus DC put Harley back on Joker's leash and plan to beef up Joker's current image with a more macho Leto Joker/Quin movie instead of an independent women gone wild in a Sirens movie and now a macho Scorcese rated R Joker origin. Thus the diluting of both women back to lesser importance than the men :(. What could have saved it was what I mentioned before - Ben Affleck as Batman because however batman goes the DCEU goes. Ben could've made WB keep the DCEU intact and kept Wonder woman the leader, but either Ben caved or Ben ran or Ben agreed with them & left and thus the dismantling of the Wonder WOMEN DCEU began. Sorry Joss Whedon & your strong women tendencies will not last for long because they just want you to help them in the short term money making(Wonder woman led Justice League and maybe Batgirl) and then out you go when afterward this Wonder Woman lead Earth will be destroyed. Non-sensical or nonsense unless you are a man.

Man, it seems like you guy forgot that WB said that they wanted to wait until Justice League comes out before they set any concrete plans. Its like Woody Allen said "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." DC announcing films that aren't getting made yet is the same as Marvel starting scripts for films that were never made and any other studio annoucing a film that wasn't a priority yet. I don't get this at all, DC has smoked Marvel for decades in every category they have competed in, including getting a superhero movie to the big screen 1st yet Marvel has one great idea and suddenly they have been whopping DC's ass for years? Lets get real, DC didn't have 60's Batman, 70's Wonder Woman, AAAALLLLLLLLL their animated shows from the 90's onward and the animated movies plus the Batman/Superman film series, Marvel wouldn't have half their overall success. this is the one thing i dont like about schnepp. it was so clearly stated" hey it will be in the dceu but it wont involve any other character" then he comes out with " hey how many batman are there going to be " and wasn't he the guy for months saying " i want a batman movie that is stand alone and not in dceu" and now goes im confused at how many batman there are. At this current moment there is 1 batman and 2 jokers. its not that confusing

Simple answer no there's been multiple version of the same characters in comics animation and video games
