Identity Crisis and Watchmen I have read multiple times. The heroes in those books really are heroic to me because they learn to deal with more grounded problems but still remain heroes. When people go through the most hardest times their true self is shown and they show they are real heroes in those books .

Heroes is my favorite show on Collider, but if these aren't being filmed daily I don't understand the benefit of posting them daily. I completely understand that news is constantly changing and can get confusing (especially with the DCEU) but Matt Reeves cleared this up days ago. If these are being filmed in advance it makes sense that their news is outdated, but posting them every day gives the impression that this is up to date and only confuses the audience leading to more back and forth rumors. That's not a knock on the hosts, who I absolutely love, but just my opinion on the new format. I was very for a daily Heroes show, but I wish they would start with a 5 min recap of the current news and then dive into the daily segment (twitter questions, comic issues, etc.) If this is filmed daily and their news is just outdated then I apologize

I really like what they're doing with the marvel characters on Netflix but I think it would be smart to stop with the television format after the individual series have gone to 4 seasons. They could start doing Daredevil movies, Luke Cage movies,etc.

They just nailed it with the whole thing about The Question. DC's new streaming service starts next year. They should do a The Question tv show in the style of what Zack Snyder did with Nite Owl 2 and the original Nite Owl in Watchmen. Have Renee Montoya learning from and working with the original Question solving cases together before she takes up the mantle. Maybe season 1 is just him alone and then they introduce her at some point in season 2......PERFECT!!!

DC can keep Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Batman (young) solo movies in the past, and Superman and Justice League (older Batman) in the present days, so creating a future structured universe. That would be a different way to build a universe not following the phases like Marvel way.

Begins was literally an origin and TDK took place shortly after so yes he was a young batman. He was a "bit" older in Rises but him simply being older isnt exactly the point...this batman has been around for 20 years and has tons of history. Thats the difference.

It was, but Reeves wants to put his own signature on it. That much is obvious after the Oscar buzz that Apes is getting - he likely wants to distance himself as far as possible from BvS-Justice League's storyline. I'm inclined to agree. start casting for another Batman, and stop trying to fit a round peg into a square hole. The minute he passed or declined on the Affleck script, the stage is pretty much set for an exit ..and I truly liked Affleck in that role - but dude should just move on.

Actually, there was a run called Batman Legends of the Dark Knight: SHAMAN, which had an interesting retelling of his origin/spirit quest (cool Haida inspired art in it, check it out), which i'd love to see a younger Batman/Bruce explore, then maybe a Year One themed build up. Move into the present day version slowly. I'm one of those people that thinks Scott Adkins could pull it off (& keep Batfleck in the current day/JL films)

I think Batfleck is under to much stress we want him to act direct and produce one of the greatest characters known to man I think once him and Matt Reeves finish The Batman ( the 1st movie) and it does awesome like Christopher Nolan awesome or even better maybe Battfleck and Reeves may co direct the second batman movie and Batfleck will do the last one by himself

Ben Affleck has won an oscar for screenwriting and directed a best picture winner and WB doesn't want him writing or directing their Batman standalone. I wouldn't hold it against him at all if he wants to walk away from working with them for a while. I'm sure he'll finish out his contract but if he wants out then I get it.

OriginalOrigins nightwing is going to happen. The director has said that they will announce detailes when they are ready to announce it. Honestly i hope we dont get anything for nightwing for a couple of months so that dc can get out of this spastic movie announcement phase that they have been going through for the last couple of weeks. The whole point is Reeves (in typical ego after a good double feature of Planet of the Ape reboot) wants to re-imagine a trilogy and it will not be remotely as good as the defining Dark Knight Trilogy - instead of just making a solid film, he wants his signature on it .

I fear you may be right. Almost any time a director or actor gets a chance to work on property, their first instinct is to "make it their own" - and that isn't meant as an insult, all artists naturally want to stretch their creative muscles. The problem is, their egos often get in the way, and they end up making choices that don't actually serve the story/character. Instead of giving us great Batman film, Reeves may fall in the trap of "reinventing" Batman. I think this is exactly what happened with Leto's Joker; he was trying too hard to make his portrayal of Joker different from Ledgers, and he end up with something that (for most of the audience) fell short of we wanted. Reeves is a talented director, I hope he comes through with a great Batman film...but he doesn't need to reinvent this classic character or his story - after sixty years, the audience KNOWS Batman.
