Seriously, though - what mandolin do you RECOMMEND for a situation that needs VOLUME, as well as tone? Playing in Irish Trad Sessions can be a challenge up against fiddles, whistles, flutes, Uilleann pipes, concertinas, tenor banjo, etc.

There are banjo mandolins, might be something worth looking into! Tuned the same just has a banjo soundboard

I play tenor banjo, and now banjo-mandolin at sessions. Those things cut trough the mix better than any mandolin.
