The Collings sounds like a Collings, clear, articulate, more defined and the Martin sounds like a throwback Martin, fuller, more bass, and rounder. Great options either way!

I tend to favor Collings. The notes have an explosiveness to them that is jusst grea to experience when playing fingerstyle

Just listened to this blind. 1st is more articulate esp somewhere around lower mids, each note distinct & articulate. 2nd is louder (which isn’t always better - low hanging “positive” for some. 2nd has lower mids that seemed to mush together a bit, which sometimes comes with obvious desirable overtones that, in this case, I didn’t quite hear…. Both definitely cured my curiosity of SC parabolics, lol. Curious how the necks feel, relative to each other.

2 different scale lengths, OM-1 is 25.5, Martin is 24 .9 also make sure you listen with headphones. Closer comparison would be OM-1 vs OM18

This particular OM was actually custom ordered with a 24 7/8 scale length, hence the "SS" designation.

First guitar is by FAR the better guitar. Reminds me of my Larrivee OM-05. I'm guessing it's the Collings going by the pyramid bridge.

The Collings 0M1SS cost twice as much as the Martin 000-18 . Does the Collings sound twice as good ?? I'll go for the Martin....

That is an 000-18 authentic, not a standard. There was very few of those built and they runs hour $5000 these days. Far from the standard 000-18.
