It sure sound nice and cruchy, but damn... those sliders look unacceptably wobbly for a €400,- pedal, if you ask me...

You know, they are a touch wobbly but it doesn’t feel like a quality issue to me, it feels a little bit like a mismatch between resistance and the size of the fader caps. You get a lot of “purchase” with fader caps that big but the shaft is kinda small and the resistance is pretty high, so it looks a bit more wobbly than it feels if that makes any sense haha. Would be nice if they were tighter but it doesn’t strike me as something that will fail.

@@Duskmos Hey Duskmos, thanks for getting back to me and sharing your thoughts! I actually only noticed "the wobbliness" after ordering the Collision Devices TARS DLX, which I've received today! And well, I'm in a bind really... I mean, the sound is incredible. It just adds an incredible fatness. It is also extemely versatile, the bottom end is all there and it can really scream like all those good and somewhat nasty Korg filters (MS-20, Monologue). The big con however is the build quality. I started my musical explorations with a Nord Lead and some guitar pedals (Stymon, EHX, Catalinbread). Build quality of all these tools is top-notch. Potentiometer are firm and solid... and I guess it spoiled me in a way. Add to that a very small amount of disposable income, which basically means I have to sell something, if I want to buy something new. Probaly makes me a bit more demanding than others... But, I have to say that ~ €500,- for the TARS DLX, the build quality is just not on par with similar priced gear. Those sliders are a no-go for me and will probably result in me sending it back... a shame really, as it is such a cool device otherwise. I genuinely hope they up their game at Collision Devices and release better build products in the near-future. I would definitly buy it then! Anyway, sorry for the rant :) Have a good one! Always appreciate you for sharing your musical experiments and combinations :)

@@Rogerthat144 Aw man that's a shame, I'm sorry to hear it. I'd say that their other boxes (sans sliders) are great! I also own two of the Black Hole Symmetries (for stereo) and they're some of my favorites, but maybe the fader style design kinda threw them for a loop. It's important to feel good about what you're spending your money on, so to that end, I hope you find something that works for you! Good luck with the hunt and thanks for the kind words!
