Colo 34. Pathfinder R51 offroading

Some clips from our recent trip to Gees Arm Road near Wheeny Creek in Colo Heights.
We had 2 FJs:
A stock 2011 and a 2013 with some ARB Under Vehicle Protection and a winch mount
And a
Gen4 Pathfinder with 2" lift and mud terrains.

hi , i have a pathfinder . I like yours , looks very cool and looks like it performs very welll !!!! what is the 2 inch lift u have on it?? im looking for a good small lift that performs well! i put a 2.5 coil spacer in front but i do not think it will perform well offroad thanks

Man I gotta hand it to you, your page is the best for pathfinder off roading videos! You drive it hard! I know you mention arb underbody protection, have you got fuel tank protection with that too?

joe smith It's just some generic roof rack. Custom made mounts for factory rails. Basically it's 50x50 steel angle with few drilled holes.

Curious, why the R51 pathfinder instead of a 2nd gen xterra? The X would be lighter, has a shorter wheelbase, and doesn't suffer from the weak independent rear suspension issues due to its solid rear axle (plus they have lockers).

Weak independent rear suspension, are you the Nissan expert lol? My (dogs) Pathfinder has never had weak IRS issues (weak radiator yes, suspension no) it is an 05' 4.0L petrol with 218,043 miles, plus it has a rear ARB air locker. It is better than your X on all accounts.

Vasily Chekalkin Aah that makes sense. Weird they didn't offer the Xterra in Australia, it's got that nice solid rear axle and competes better with the amazing rigs you guys have over there

+fredbrackely Follow me out offroading in Oregon, Nevada, Montana, etc, you'll be breaking CV axles left and right. Just like any independent suspension you're going to have issues with the CV axles, especially with lift due to binding and other properties of physics. Hell I've broken CV axles on two different Nissans. (Front CVs, have yet to break any solid rear axles). Saying they're stronger than a solid axle is just well, doing yourself a disservice. Anyone can install an ARB air locker, when you've got Two come back and tell me about it. Until then well... assuming I don't have an air locker would be your own fault. The Only advantage to a independent rear suspension vs a solid rear axle would be the comfort level for the passengers in the rear, and since you've got up to 3 more passengers in the rear of a Pathfinder, it makes sense to offer a higher level of comfort (at the sacrifice of off-road performance) for the rear suspension.

На рестайлах российской версии очень классно работает. У нас в клубе 5 тачек. Сравнивали. На доресте слабовато. Хотя самоблок просится
