During our 15-day trip in August 2023, we visited 14 hotspot regions and spotted an amazing 411 bird species. Along the way, we also encountered breathtaking scenery and made wonderful connections with people.
The whole video series will be split into four episodes, and this is the first one.
A bird name followed by ⓔ indicates that the bird is endemic to Colombia.
The video includes some birding spots and bird species information for reference.
All footage captured using Nikon Z9 and AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR.

Another great video! I really appreciate how you show all the bird names, as well as hae more than one photo of lots of the birds. They can look so different from different angles and in variable light, so showing more than one photo really helps! My family is heading to Colombia in 2025, so this is helping me get ready. Looking forward to episode 2:) I'm curious where in China you live, as I lived in Xi'an in 2004 and have also spent over 6 months traveling around the four corners of your amazing country. We'll be back with my family in 2026!

Thank you very much for your praise and comments. I'm glad if my videos can be helpful to you. I used to live in Beijing, China, and now I've been settled in Toronto for a few years. China in the 2004s was indeed quite different, with more passion and vitality. If you were to visit China again now, you would experience many changes, both positive and negative.I really enjoy the cuisine in Xi'an, but I'm not sure if it's to your liking or something you're accustomed to.

Thank you for your comment! Dona Dora's place was a fantastic birding spot with basic accommodation and airport transfer services. However, we opted for a taxi arranged by our local bird guide, Luis. We didn't visit the cock of the rocks as we had already seen them in Ecuador. You're welcome!
