I saw Elkin several times live, a privilege that I am very proud of and they were always incredible experiences of a great artist and a wonderful human being, I remember a concert at the theater "Jorge Isaacs" in which a person while playing a song began to climb on the seats in a harmful way and Elkin stopped the song and said "I'm sorry for stopping the song but we have to calm down, metal is power but it is also culture" he took out his wallet, took out the money that the concert ticket cost and told the person "If you can't behave like someone cultured, like Rock deserves, take the ticket money and leave", the person took the money and left. ... Then it was a mind-blowing night. Vi a Elkin varias veces en vivo, un privilegio del que me siento muy orgulloso y siempre fueron experiencias increíbles de un gran artistas y un maravilloso ser humano, recuerdo un concierto en el teatro "Jorge Isaacs" en el que una persona mientras tocaban una canción empezo a subirse en los asientos de manera dañina y Elkin paró la canción y dijo "Lo siento por parar la canción pero tenemos que calmarnos, el metal es poder pero también es cultura" sacó la billetera, sacó el dinero que costaba la entrada al concierto y le dijo a la persona "Si no puedes comportarte como alguien culto, como el Rock lo merece, toma el dinero de la entrada y retírate", la persona tomó el dinero y se fue.... Luego fue una noche alucinante.

As a Colombian I am very thankful for this reaction. Kraken was part of my teenagehood and I had the opportunity to see them live a lot of times, twice with the symphonic band of Bogotá and in my opinion they sound better live than studio. If you want another amazing song I recommend "Escudo y espada".

Kraken's lyrics were an ethical treatise for our childhood and youth. The same one that allowed us to build ourselves as discerning individuals in a country that has always kept the worst for many. A beautiful paradise screwed up by violence and corruption, but with young people with balls, today adults with the same critical and reflective capacity in which the legacy of Elkin Ramirez continues.

Without a doubt Elkin Ramirez the all time best Colombian singer I remember kraken opening for quiet riot in Bogota in the 80's I was throwing my money in the coliseum to the band telling them I will pay you whatever you ask, your band's deserve millions of dollars for such a great artists.

I was born in 1977, my eldest brother was born in 1971 and you can imagine how that influenced my music preferences during 80's decade. Today I'm especially saddened because I have heard many reactions and songs from Kraken and I watched a TV program about his life and death. And it is great that someone who never heard about them, even more, someone not living in Colombia, nor spanish-speaking, may recognize why Elkin and Kraken are so important for our history and our rock scene. More Elkin Ramirez in this world, less Karol Gs, Malumas, and all thos b****rds.

I recommend you personally the song "soy real" that means "I'm real" and I recommend you also, if you aloud me 9f course, other awesome Colombian bands for you to check with one of their most emblematic songs: "tenebrarum" with the song "el vuelo de las almas"; "neurosis inc" with "Verdun", "Neus" with "quien te crees que eres". You can look for other bands that may be you know already: parabellum, typhon, inquisition, masacre... See ya!

En tus comentarios del minuto 9:30 es similar a mi perspectiva cuando emoece a oir rock y metal estadounidense, ingles y autraliano, luego vinieron las alemanas, los nordicos. Aunque nada de inglés y al principio q no teniamos acceso a lo de hoy el internet, traductores etc y a punta de diccionario bilingüe jajajaja. Me centre en las melodias de guitarras, bajo y bateria y para mi eso era excelente y ademas aunque no hablo ingles, el oir sus temas aprendi a pronunciarlo, pero aunque no lo entendía fonéticamente es espectacular y asi se centra es en la melodía, pues al fin algunas letras no dicen nada. Pero ya después del 2010 empecé la busqueda de que podrian decir esas letras y si, algunas no dicen Nada y solo suenan fonéticamente bien sin necesidad de traducir. 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻🇨🇴
