FYI. Suero is made with nothing other than Milk and Salt. That mixture is placed in a bottle and left at room temperature. Each day the water that separated, is discarded. This is done for 4-5 days. Normally it is eaten with plantain chips!

Ok so that makes sense why it has that funky fermented flavour. I tried store bought and it's just not the same. I may try to make this at home now because I love it.

@@ayngelina it kinda needs a warm or not too cold climate. A friend made some for me, close to the Andes and it took four days for a Litre and rendered about 250 ML.

I think suero is more like whey protein but in a creamy presentation instead of a whey protein shake.

Ayngelina, another great video. You’ve just given me a few more reasons to visit Sta. Marta. Also, don’t classify yourself as a Gringa. Los “Gringos” son el gente desde los EEUU. Eres Canadiense! 🇨🇦 In Latin America people tend also to classify others in general terms. You will more often hear all Asians classified as Chinos and not Asiáticos. If someone calls you a Gringa. Dile, “Guerra si, Gringa no. Soy de Canadá” You’ll get a lot more respect! No dar papaya 👍 White girl yes, Gringa no.
@ayngelina2 жыл бұрын
Haha to be honest, most people in Colombia actually thought I was Colombian. It didn't make it to the video but when I was getting juice I started talking to one of the men who buys the fish and sells it on the street. At one point he looked at me really confused and said "eres gringa???" and I burst out laughing and said yes. A few days later I shot a safety video on an early Sunday morning and asked a security guard if I could use the patio for a restaurant that hadn't been set up for the morning. Mid way through he came over and said "wow your English is almost perfect" and I was confused but later he laughed and said he thought I was Colombian.
