A better to way to have done this was play as soviet union, last stand spam on gda capital till you can intervene through zhanov doctrine and then when you capitulate the greeks you get an event to play as them

Philippines also got this similar position like Greece after World War II since most of liberation forces or resistance are leftist movement mostly combined Lenist and Maoist communist but the Assistance from Americans and Philippine Government quickly isolated them in the mountains and also its an Archipelago it means it ended with them badly since it resulted for them their forces very disorganized and seperated to the Hukbalahap Leader ( Communist) Luis Taruc leading for him to surrender in May 17,1954 ending the rise of Communism in that decade not until next decade the New People's Army rise again in the leadership of Joma Sison but still failed and right now he is still in exile in Netherlands right up to this day.

important to also note how the fighting in athens was headed by the british who were allied with the greek government in exile. the police officers shot protestors under british orders and after a lot of fighting it was the indian 5th division who was called in from italy that stopped the fighting. the order for the commies to give in their weapons was also made by the same british general im pretty sure. it is argued by historians that greece was for a time a british protectorate in all but name
