02:42 - The Tosurak Raider unit really sets the Vasari apart. Early on, 20-30 of them split as a second fleet and raid the enemy infrastructure. If the enemy fleet comes to intercept, they're faster and can just disengage. They gain resources when they do damage to enemy infrastructure. So you can use this to pick off enemy research and infrastructure, then reinvest the gains back into YOUR army.

In the first game their scouts could capture neutral extractors which was already a gamble based on the map. In the current game you have to be lucky with getting decent crystal income early on since your starting planet only gives metal. You dont have an easy way to get credits so buying crystal is not completely out but hardly an option. Your frigates and cruisers while generally more powerful individually are also more costly both in resources and fleet supply. Especially on smaller and medium sized maps in the first and second game you need to effectively harass your opponent early on in order to have a chance assuming equal skill. Especially tec will just steamroll any vasari player by the late early to early mid game. If you get into the late game Vasari is insanely strong and almost overpowered with their phase gates and stuff. Getting there against a decent opponent is the problem.

One big advantage the Vasari have is that they can have 2500 max fleet supply instead of 2000. Combined with their mobility, they can make devastating all out assaults. They're very good at avoiding unfavorable engagements, and going past fortified planets to get to weakly defended planets. Vasari are weak against bombers so you should use their mobility to focus down enemy carriers as quickly as you can. Their phase missiles are very good against Advent since they can bypass shields and the Advent have the strongest shields. But the Advent carrier capital ship has an ability that basically negates missiles. So use your energy weapon ships to kill the Advent carrier capital ship and use missiles against everything else.

I’ve been playing a lot of this faction and are by far my favorite. Specially exodus faction. the Key points for them. Late game is your friend. Your max fleet is bigger than others. Your star base moves with you. So adding that to your fleet along with the resonance bonus and your winning any direct fight. Your titan is devastating and the strongest damage dealing titan. A smart blink and Maw attack will cripple an enemy fleet. You’re also insanely mobile with your phase gates. Also don’t forget your titan can create a temp phase gate which is insanely useful. Late game you also don’t need planets anymore. You can build everything on your ships, so start razing enemy planets with the core stripper and leaving before they get to you. If they try and capital rush you, they can’t because you can loose your capital planet and be fine. Your ships also can make more ships which makes it even more difficult for anybody to fight you.
@bluu.01114 ай бұрын
Depends on the difficulty in my opinion. When I hit hard, mode I needed a core set of planets with good defenses with labs, resonance, and starbases with phase gates. The ship slots are just better off used for more armor, healing, antimatter, and damage increase and not infastructure. After I establish that core system, I just eat any planet I conquer to deny it to the enemy.
@James-io7jl4 ай бұрын
@@bluu.0111 yea for sure. I wasn’t advocating for blowing up your core system you developed. I was just saying that you don’t have to defend it anymore if you don’t want to. They get nothing but slowly their resource planets go out one by one.

for the titan, its not the hardest hitter, the vasari alliance one (with its MASSIVE missile battery and frequent stun mixed with AoE damage) and the Ragnarov are big exemples that have it beat in that department. However, its the most mobile titan by FAR (even maybe one of the most mobile ships in the game) and it becomes harder to kill and hits harder the lower its health is (with PASSIVE splash damage to boot making frigate/corvette swarms unfit for more than wounding it, they wont be capable of finishing the job without something tanking for them), while oneshotting entire groups of cruisers with the Maw, with a preference for eating up carrier spam. It may not reallly be the best titan in any given situation, but its the best allrounder of the titans and the one that can really dictate the terms of the fights it gets into.

@someolfellow10943 ай бұрын
Something to note about the Vorastra titan is that its warp ability's damage also affects strikecraft and missiles So, at the start of a battle, when all the enemies strike craft are a massive clump, you can warp your titan onto them and wipe out HUNDREDS of strike craft in an instant with an ability with a very short cool down at level 3, while also putting it in range of the enemy's vanguard ships, which you can use the maw on to eliminate. Also, it's great for snagging those pesky backline ships. The Advent LOVE their little missle frigates and their carriers, so warping this bad boy over to them to use the Maw on them is a great way to eliminate a huge chunk of their firepower. The Maw will only destroy so much fleet power per use, increasing the cap as its leveled up, so its better used against swarms of smaller craft, or pulling a group of cruisers into your own lines. Also, if you manage to find an artifact that decreases ship ability cooldown, this thing becomes damn near impossible to kill due to how fast it can warp, and will eviscerate smaller ships while your capitals take on anything heavier. That and cutting down the Phase Gate Backline Express' cooldown by such a large amount means you can take homeworld after homeworld in just a few minutes. I love these guys.

for me, the biggest con of the faction is their starting state: while other factions start with some infrastructure and can pick any capital ship for free, the Vasaris start with nothing but 3 frigates (where the others have pre-made factories) and are forced into having the evacuator as their first capital, making their game start far more rigid and predictable (though staring with 2 of each exotic does help getting that second capital rolling out sooner if you really want it)... that and a ferrous planet is honestly meh as a capital planet type. also something worth mentioning with the Kortovas opressor and makes it even better as a mid/ladtegame unit to spam is that they come with a point defense gun (the only other direct combat cruiser that does that is the Vigilis, and it does ONLY that one job), which always helps a little against the usual missile spam. And in fact they seem tailor-made to fight off missile ships, with their good damage output against lower durability targets, missile defense and high durability For the Vulrak Penetrator, its tiny range, hight penetration and high toughness tells me those are meant to be sent against titans and ESPECIALLY fortresses. Ther are basically the non-capital to use to crack those high durability targets when kanraks dont cut it, and that you need something that doesnt care at all about AoE damage or overall taking a hit for thze Serevun, I think it shines most when trying to break through a chokepoint where the enemy is camping the phase lane exit. This kind of positioning means the Serevun will enter the system exactly where it wants to be, in the middle of the enemy fleet, and will debuff all of them making the ambush weaker. Also note that their detectin ability becomes useless in the lategame since you get the same detection they offer map-wide eventually For the Jarrastul, gravity warhead also prevents the enemy from initiating a phase jump, so its also a greattool to prevent a retreating enemy from escaping you as quickly. For the Carrier, feels their role as a healer is the best thign aout them: the armor boost has a very small cooldown, and can allow a fortress or titan to tank an entire fleet almost forever, whiel their other healign ability is perfect to support smaller ships. I personally never go without at least a pair of those (so they can armor rep eachother), and typically use 4 of them when money is no longer as much of an issue the Antorak Marauder CANNOT make itself invulnerable, however it can use this ability on either an ally or an enemy. on an enemy, you can use it as a disable to temporarily shut down an important enemy ship (great exemple would be an advent Raience battleship that taunts your fleet and has a buff allowing it to reflect the damage it takes, making it take no damage shuts down the combo), and on an ally, it becomes the vasari answer to getting focus-fired, especially to avoid huge missile volleys. Also their ult allows you to just say "nope" to a capital ship dying, meanign once they hit level 6 they becoem maybe THE most aggravating ship in your fleet for the enemy for the Vulkoras, it notably has one of the most devastating ultimate ablities of the game, able to melt ANY ship that shat its shields down in second. A single one at level 6 is a MAJOR threat to titans and fortresses and can secure capital ship kills with ease, 2 or more are an almost guaranteed death sentence since their damage is % of health based. for vasari exodus, going fully mobile is very effective, allowign you to go straight t the enemy capital with a deathball, withotu caring whan mght happen to your home. The only things that cant be made mobile are ressource extraction (though you can still earn some by killing enemies) and spreading culture.

its more a PD issue than a missile ship issue. The problem is that PD as it is now focus-fires on missiles way too hard, meaning no matter how many you build only a few missiles will get shot down out of entire volleys. Once they become a viable choice to blunt missile spam, missile ships will no longer be as dominant (and carriers will likely be what takes the spot)

Hard disagree on the Ravastra Skirmisher. And I learned this from the AI because it did this to me- if you stack like 50-80 of those things, and they're very cheap and easy to mass produce so you can accomplish this really fast (and an insane AI will come at you like this with a horrifying quickness), they can melt capital ships, stations, and titans and no one has enough AOE to take them out before they've wrecked whatever is in front of them. And, they're pretty fast. So when enemies try to flee, they're basically doomed. I had to use a little quick diplomacy to buy myself time at the start, but I took down a full set of insane AI with these space piranhas.

Great to see guides on Sins. Just wanna also throw out there something I figured out with this faction is ship items are extremely helpful, particularly the defense item nanite repair swarm. If you stack like 4 carriers with their nano repair abilities along with 6 or 7 other capitals equiped with nano swarms(and you gotta be proactive in replacing them when they're used up), your fleet becomes almost unkillable.

skirmishers are a great answer to early frigate spam. Rather beefy (especialy if the enemy doesnt focus-fire them with the focus the Vasaris have on in-combat regen, also allowing them to soak most damage over time AoEs well), good DPS (even beats kanraks against low durability targets for a good while as kanraks dont get any weapon upgrades until later), not as prone to overkilling as kanraks, and dirt cheap in crystal thats often the limiting factor of Vasari economy past the very early game. the real thing that phases them out later for me is kortovas opressors, but before you can afford to spam them they are a very good pick especially against missile spam that will grossly overkill them every volley, wasting a LOT of their damage. though disagree that they melt capital ships, they dont have the penetration to do more than tickle them unless you have an ABSURD number of them (at which point, kanraks would have done it way faster and likely for cheaper)
