I'm finally caught up! During the Redeploy phase I think every move you made moving Police around wasn't allowed. You can move police to Government controlled spaces. Oran, Orleansville, and the space in the top center were all either FLN Controlled or Uncontrolled at the time you moved police in. You moved them in to establish control, but the space has to be Government controlled for them to move there. (I've been there, my friend, I've been there. Play it where it lies. You forgot to add the one population point in Sidi Bel Abbes during propaganda round. It has a base and govt control.

Is it getting any easier to run the bots? I like the way the initiative track is implemented in this title. It functions identically to the other ones but it saves a lot of space on the game board.

IMHO, I think running the bots in this game is easier mainly because there are only two factions at play. There are some differences, however, in the bots operations. One thing that took a Linate for me was the formula regarding FLN bases to number of troops at those bases. Also the border level status will play a big role in FLN movement into Algeria and within the various areas in the country. Propaganda steps are a little different as well. But to me, once you understand these nuisances, the bots are easier to run.

@@andreford3197 Hey Andre... I was initially going to get this title but I made a trade with a guy for Fire in the Lake. Big mistake for my first COIN game! About five minutes of trying to run the bots I realized it wasn’t going to happen. I recently got Cuba Libre and it is a little easier to run the bots but running three just takes me out of the flow of the game. I understand everything and I can do it but it takes me so long to get back to my turn sometimes. The COIN games are really great designs though.

@@XHuntinatorX I got interested in the COIN games after learning and playing Labyrinth. My first COIN purchase was A Distant Plain. I played all sides while learning the game then learned the bots. A lot of folks don't like playing the bots but I truly enjoy it. Got Colonial Twilight and picked it up fairly quickly. This would definitely be the game I would use to introduce the COIN series to those who would be interested in the series. Looking to continue to add them to my collection.
