Ok this video convinced me to try. I have been following Chris Cheng and a few others and done the color alongs but I really want to give this a try as I love your blending and shading techniques. Now to gather up my colors, I love how many you use. It really makes things so vibrant!

@@MyColourfulCountryLife Thank you for your reply and I think I will fall in love with the colors. I just have to organize my pencils differently. I put my prismacolors in numerical order and its so much easier to pick them out. I think I will do the same with the polychromos. I am having to put a small label on the pencil with the number because I cant read the letters, shiny gold letters and old eyes dont go well together. Thank you again for the awesome tutorial!

What are the differences between parisma and polychrome pencils?

The prismas are wax based and have a softer core so they are very creamy and easy to blend. If you want to layer make sure you use a soft pressure as they burnish so easily (which I love). Polys are oil based and great for building up layers, the core is firmer which helps them hold a point longer. Great for fur, hair and getting in tiny spaces. I find polys last longer too as you will sharpen them less often.

Thank you so much ☺️ Yeah they changed a few of the colours. I’ve got the new names in the conversion chart alongside the old names. The numbers all stayed the same though so if you follow by number you shouldn’t have any problems 🤗

Gorgeous colours, thank you for showing each pencil clearly so we can see what you are using. I greatly appreciate your clean nails and no jewellery too. I find brightly coloured nails and sparkling rings very distracting when I am trying to focus on what the hands are doing!
