Color By Number: A Colouring Sketchbook Sudoku!

Today's Puzzle:
We're back in kindergarten today with a colouring by number Sudoku. They must be genius kids though given this is a 2* difficulty rated puzzle.
Don't be put off by the new variant, it's a fantastic puzzle that should yield its secret to a little bit of persistence.

Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
SUMMING LINES- Different colored lines each have a different VALUE. The number in a cell that contains one or more lines is the sum of the VALUES of all lines that go to the center of that cell. The red in box 3 and box 7 are each considered only ONE RED LINE. Cells without any lines can be any number.
KROPKI PAIRS- Numbers with a black dot between them are in a ratio of 2:1. Not all possible dots are given.

I placed the 8 and 4 in box 5 and the 8 in box one then stared at the puzzle, perplexed, for 30 minutes before giving up. Glad to see I was, at least, right in the 3 digits I did place.

Lovely puzzle Difficult until I understood the rule set and the logic behind it I noticed very early that the 3 line squares were orange. This was my major break in. Thanks for a great puzzle Sleuth and Will

44:54 - Well I got all the colouring sorted out in about 20 minutes but really struggled putting the numbers together. Got there in the end though.

At 7min, i see in box 3 that orange must equal red plus blue plus green. Wonder if youll use this.

Quite a pretty, prismatic puzzle! I tried to use the color wheel to mark the combinations, with red + blue = magenta, and red + green = yellow, but there isn't a good cyan (for green + blue) in the standard color set, and I've never gotten around to making a custom color set for myself. And of course orange + other colors aren't available, either. Anyway, my time today was 11:42, solver number 163.

Somehow I managed to solve this despite not really being able to get my head round the summing lines ruleset. As soon as it's clear that orange is in the corner of box 7 and it's the sum of three other digits, it all falls into place.

Totally perplexed by the whole puzzle probably confounded by that Sunday night is the red wine night with one of my dear friends! 🙈🙈

I feel like you prematurely ruled out Orange=6 starting at 9:55. If you're looking at box 7 alone, you could do red=3, orange=6, blue=1, green=2, purple=4, yellow=5.

Its rare that i watch a video of yours without first attempting the puzzle but i just couldn't understand the rules of this one. Even with your explanation. There has to be a better way to explain this ruleset.
